Upcoming events:
Wednesday 8/27: Just for Fun meet at the Kroc center. This is in place of practice. It is for all swimmers (even the brand new ones) all levels. This takes the place of the regular practice. Time is 5:00-7:00 PM for all swimmers. The Just - for - fun meets are just that. a very low pressure environment to swim in short races with your teammates just to get a small taste of competition. Everyone gets a ribbon for each swim, and it's a great way to start to learn about competing. Please join us.
Saturday 8/30: Swimmer and family Beach Day. We will meet on the grass area at La Jolla Shores (not the cove) at 8:00 AM . the kids will do some fun activities/games followed by a beach run and a beach swim.
All CAST swimmers and families are invited. Plan for limited parking in the adjacent lot - you may have to park up to 1/4 mile away on nearby streets.
Parents with longboards, kayaks or ocean swimming experience are encouraged to help with swim supervision. We keep the swim short - about 600 yds to a buoy and back.....and the swim is not mandatory. Then swimmers and families can stick around, if they choose, for some socializing and relaxing at the beach.
FYI - dogs are allowed on the beach on a leash until 9:00 AM, and in the park area on a leash after that.
Annual Swim-O-Rama Fundraiser - Swim on Sept 18th. Money in by Sept 30th. Prizes given on Oct 6th. Full information including forms and info to send out to freinds and families, and prize info will be posted on the events section of the website by this Friday.
Here's an outline from last weeks zoom meeting. I have not had the time to upload the video of the meeting to youtube, though I hope to do this soon for those who didn't get a chance to attend.
