Coaching Staff
Kevin Gallivan Head Coach

Coach Kevin brings over 30 years of coaching experience to the San Antonio swim community. As the founder and head coach of Clover Aquatics, a USA Swimming team based in Hollywood Park, he is dedicated to developing swimmers both in and out of the pool. In addition to his club leadership, Coach Kevin also coaches several high school swim teams across the city, including Central Catholic High School, Providence Catholic High School, San Antonio Christian School, and St. Anthony Catholic High School.

Coach Kevin’s coaching career began in 1980 with the Hollywood Park Swim Team summer league. From 1985 to 1990, he also coached at other area summer league programs, including Harmony Hills and Deerfield, while simultaneously working with the USA Swimming program, Alamo Area Aquatics Association (AAAA). After spending several years living in Houston, Coach Kevin returned to San Antonio and resumed coaching with the San Antonio Wave from 2004 to 2006.

Since 2006, he has been deeply involved in high school swimming, consistently building strong, competitive programs that emphasize discipline, team culture, and personal growth. A man of faith, Coach Kevin believes in developing not just strength and skill in his athletes, but also character. For him, swimming is more than a sport, it’s a platform to mentor young people and instill lifelong values such as humility, perseverance, and service.

In the fall of 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Coach Kevin stepped up when many swim programs were being suspended or shut down. With local athletes facing the possible end of their competitive seasons and, for some, the end of their swim careers, he launched the AAAA-NE Hollywood Park Swim Team to give high school swimmers a safe and structured place to continue training. His efforts kept athletes in the water and helped preserve their momentum and passion for the sport during an incredibly uncertain time. The team grew quickly, evolving into Texas Gold Hollywood Park, and ultimately becoming an independent USA Swimming program now known as Clover Aquatics.

A longtime resident of Hollywood Park since 2005, Coach Kevin is deeply invested in the local community. His passion for swimming and athlete development has made a lasting impact on hundreds of young swimmers in the San Antonio area.

Coach Kevin is also a former competitive swimmer. He graduated from Churchill High School in 1983, where he earned All-American honors during his senior year. He continued his athletic career at Indian River State College in Florida on a swimming scholarship, once again earning All-American honors. He later returned to San Antonio to complete his degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).

With this experience, Coach Kevin has not only built successful programs but has also developed numerous All-American swimmers, Junior National qualifiers, Olympic Trial qualifiers, and Olympians, helping athletes reach the highest levels of the sport.

Today, through Clover Aquatics and his high school coaching roles, Coach Kevin continues to provide mentorship, structure, and opportunity for young athletes to grow both in sport and in life.
