MARIEKE ROBERTS
Camp Director & Technical Coach
Marieke Mastebroek, now Marieke Roberts, holds multiple swimming titles, among them: European Champion (Athens, Greece-1991), Dutch Record Holder, and World Championship Finalist (Perth, Australia-1990). At one point she was ranked number one in the world in the 50 freestyle. As a member of the National Swim Team in the Netherlands, she traveled to compete and train in more than 20 countries. In 1993, Marieke was recruited by SMU, where she was NCAA Division I All American for 3 years (she graduated college in 3 years), won several SWC and NCAA medals, and ended her career with a 2nd place team finish at the NCAA Championship in 1996.
Marieke currently coaches age-group club swimmers in Grapevine. Once trained as a swimmer by legendary Coach Koekkoek, now trained as a coach by him. Marieke learned the technical aspects of stroke analysis, including underwater filming and motion software application, from Dr. Wieger Mensonidus, Olympic Bronze Medalist and Biomechanic Specialist in the field of decreased resistance and the ideal ‘STREAMLINE’ for the elite swimmer. Once, as a swimmer, subjected to underwater filming and stroke analysis, she now serves as Technical Coach helping the next generation swimmers perfect their swim technique. Marieke is also an energetic mom of 4 who has a passion for swimming and a keen ability to encourage success in the sport!

ZACH WIDENER
Camp Coach
Coach Zach is currently the head swim coach of the Richland High School team in North Richland Hills. In addition to high school coaching, Zach has 8 years of club coaching experience: From 2003-2011 he coached for TRS where he climbed his was up to head age group coach. Even camp coaching is not new to Zach. He was a camp counselor/coach for the acclaimed A&M Swim Camp from 1999-2003, which makes him all the more valuable for Camp STREAMLINE!
Prior to coaching, Zach swam for A&M under Mel Nash and Jay Holmes. While swimming for the Aggies, he qualified for National Championships in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, was a multiple-time Big 12 Conference Championships finalist, and was co-captain of the Men's A&M Swim Team during his senior year of 2003. Coach Zach’s athletic focus is on long-term competitive success and he believes that pursuing excellent technique is the premier fundamental for any successful athlete, which is why he chooses to coach for STREAMLINE.
SHAILEY BRUMLEY
Camp Coach
Since the beginning of the summer of 2011, Shailey has become a great asset to STREAMLINE because of her passion for swimming, a remarkable understanding of and interest in proper swim technique, and a wonderful ability to connect with swimmers. She was discovered by Coach Anton Koekkoek during one of the STREAMLINE Elite sessions in 2010, when she did a little unexpected coaching as one of the STREAMLINE campers! Coach Anton was so impressed with Shailey's coaching abilities, that he decided to grant her extra responsibilities in the 2012 Elite sessions.
Shailey is now a full-time student at Southern Illinois University, where she plans to graduate with an Exercise Science degree in 2014. This degree will prepare her for a Masters program in bio-kinesiology. While pursuing her degrees, Shailey enjoys the privilege to be mentored as a swim coach by International Coach Anton Koekkoek. Eventually, Shailey plans to combine coaching with scientific research in swimming. At Southern Illinois University, Shailey earns a partial swimming scholarship by strengthening the Salukis sprint squad, coached by Rick Walker and Scott Olson.
FLIP GAMMON
Guest Coach

Coach Flip is a level 5 USA Swimming Coach as well as a level 5 High School Coach, as certified by the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA). Flip currently coaches age group and senior club swimmers in Keller. His long and impressive coaching career includes coaching the Duncanville High School team for 27 years. He was awarded High School Region Coach of the Year 3 times and District Coach of the Year more than 20 times. He is also listed three times in Who’s Who in America Secondary School. Flip’s coaching produced 2 Olympic Trial finalists, numerous TAGS champions, Junior and Senior National swimmers, two former UIL Texas state meet record holders, and three Outstanding Swimmer in the state awards.
Prior to coaching, Flip was an All-State swimmer in high school and continued swimming in college for Oklahoma State. Flip asks his swimmers to give him their best on their worst days so that their best days can be really special. He credits much of his success as a coach to this philosophy.
RYAN BERUBE
Olympic Champion & Guest Speaker (picture below-left)
Ryan Berube is an Olympic Champion and former member of the United States National Team. He won the gold medal as a member of the U.S. men's relay team in the 4x200m freestyle at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Earlier in 1996, he was named NCAA Swimmer of the Year after winning the 200y IM and 100y and 200y backstroke at NCAA Championships. In 1995, Ryan also swam on the 4x200m freestyle relay that broke the Pan American Record at the Pan American Games. In the pool, Ryan was known for his impeccable technique and unparalleled work ethic. With his individual events, he was ranked top-10 in the world several times.
Ryan is a talented motivational speaker who captivates and connects with audiences of all ages. He visits most STREAMLINE sessions to deliver a motivational speech, during which he shows his Olympic gold medal, plays a DVD with his winning Olympic race, and stays for autographs and pictures.

MARTINA MAROVCOVA
Olympic Medalist & Guest Speaker (picture above-right)
Martina Marovcova is an Olympic Medalist, World Champion, European Champion, and member of the Slovakian National Team. She won two individual silver medals at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, in the 200 freestyle (in which she missed the gold by a fraction) and in the 100 butterfly. Martina has competed in 5 consecutive Olympic Games and is now preparing for London 2012. Martina broke several World Records through her long and succesful swimming career.
With endless determination, dedication, and drive, Martina has become one of the most decorated female athletes of all time. She has won an incredible collection of 67 medals at prime meets, including 2 Olympic medals, 22 World Championship medals, and 43 European Championship medals. In addition, she has won 105 medals at FINA World Cup meets, and became overall World Cup Series winner three times. Martina was recruited by SMU in 1996 and during her impressive college career she became 14-time NCAA Champion. In 1999, she was named NCAA's Women's Swimmer of the Year. STREAMLINE is fortunate to count Martina as one of its guest speakers.
COACH ED NESSEL
Sports Scientist, Swim Coach, Author of Swim to Win (STREAMLINE Elite 2013)
| Coach Nessel is a Level 5 ASCA certified swim coach with over 40 years of coaching experience. He has coached six Olympians, including Olympic Champion Cullen Jones, as well as NCAA and national champions. Coach Nessel is also the national librarian for United States Masters Swimming and has coached at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. In addition, he ran the Racing Camp and Clinics at Rutgers University (NJ) for five years. |

Coach Nessel's coaching credentials are complimented by his scientific research and knowledge. His career as a pharmacist, biochemist, and physiologist has led him to the forefront in swim science. He even serves as a scientist on the National Swimming Sports Medicine Committee With degrees in chemistry, infectious diseases, public health, and nutrition, Coach Nessel offers swimmers an incredibly wide range of knowledge and expertise that goes far beyond just swim practice.
His science articles have been published in many medical, scientific and athletic journals throughout the USA, and have been translated into several languages. The information in his articles is always cutting edge, much of which has been field-tested by Coach Nessel himself. A true scientist by nature, Coach Nessel thinks out of the box and is constanty looking for technically groundbreaking information. His book Swim to Win is available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Coach Nessel is currently in the final stages of writing his second swim book.
COACH PAUL BERGEN
Olympic & International Swimming Hall of Fame Coach (STREAMLINE Elite 2012)

Coach Bergen is an Olympic swimming coach from the United States. He has coached in the USA and Canada, winning coach of the year honors in both countries in different years. He was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame as an Honor Coach in 1988. Collectively, Coach Bergen’s swimmers have broken 21 World Records, 24 USA Records, and 13 Canadian Records. Among the swimmers he has coached are Inge de Bruijn (four-time Olympic Champion and numerous world records) and Tracy Caulkins (three-time Olympic Champion and 5 world records). Coach Bergen also served on the USA swimming coaching staff to three World Championships and was an Olympic coach in 1980, 1984, 1988, and 2000.
Coach Bergen has coached with the University of Texas, Cincinatti Marlins in Ohio, Nashville Aquatic Club in Tennessee, Tualatin Hills in Oregon, and Etobicoke in Ontario, Canada. There have been very few coaches who have developed international level athletes at the grass-roots, club level as Coach Bergen has. His home grown swimmers won 2 Olympic gold medals and 4 bronze, set 12 World Records, won 16 World Championship medals including 9 golds, 20 Commonwealth Games medals and 6 collegiate championships. We feel extremely honored to have Coach Bergen coach a STREAMLINE!
COACH ANTON KOEKKOEK
International Coach (STREAMLINE Elite 2010-2012)
Coach Koekkoek was head coach of one of Holland's most successful swim clubs for almost two decades. He produced an Olympian, a World Championship finalist, and a European champion. Collectively, his swimmers, which include many former members of the Dutch National Team, won over one hundred gold medals at the Dutch National Championships and broke several Dutch records. Coach Koekkoek's women's team conquered the national team title in 1998. In addition to club coaching, Coach Koekkoek served as both coach and team manager for the Dutch National Team with which he traveled to international competitions across Europe. He served as chairman of the Dutch Society of Swim Coaches for 15 years, frequently publishes swimming-related articles, is head-editor of the technical bulletin 'Motivation', is responsible for a swim website, and speaks/teaches often at swim fo-rums in both Germany and the Netherlands.
Dr. WIEGER MENSONIDUS
Technical Coach & Biomechanic (STREAMLINE Elite 2010)
Dr. Mensonidus, Olympic Bronze Medalist in the 200 breaststroke (Rome), is a world-class biomechanic in the field of decreased resistance and the ideal STREAMLINE for the elite swimmer. In Europe, from 1998-2008 he served as technical advisor (stroke analysis and correction) for Olympic Gold Medalists Pieter van den Hoogenband, Inge de Bruijn, and Marleen Veldhuis. This STREAMLINE theory expert has developed proprietary computer software that allows for calculations involving swim technique analysis. These calculations produce instruction and insight for the coach and athlete that would be impossible to obtain through normal observation.
Dr. Mensonidus is a retired professor at a university in The Hague, The Netherlands, where he taught IT, automation, math, and mechanics. He also has extensive coaching experience as head coach of one of Holland's top swim clubs. STREAMLINE was very fortunate to attract Dr. Mensonidus as a staff member for its first year in operation in 2010, especially since he is now retired from his involvement with swimming. As Technical Coach in 2010, Dr. Mensonidus' ideas and expertise laid the foundation of the current success of Camp STREAMLINE.
