Our last long course meets of the season are the Zone 2 meets.  The MACS coaches would like full participation at this meet for all Group 2 through Sectional swimmers.  Entries for the Senior Zone 2 meet are due today.  Age Group Zone 2 meet entries are due June 29.  These are separate meets held on different weekends in different locations.  The Senior Zone 2 meet is at North Jeffco on July 9-11, and the Age Group Zone 2 meet is at the Carmody Pool in Lakewood on July16-18.  If you have a 13-14-year-old swimmer, please check with your coach about whether to enter the Senior or Age Group meet.

Last Summer Meet for Mini-MACS and Group 1 Swimmers on July 25 at Pier Point
MACS will host a Suburban League meet for younger swimmers on Sunday, July 25.  This is a quick and easy meet, with a mid-morning start time, so plan to join us to swim or help with timing or concessions.

Mark Your Calendar for the MACS Picnic!
The MACS annual picnic will be held on Monday, July 26. Details will be shared soon for this fun event.  We are looking for a volunteer with a truck who can help move our grill to Del Mar. We’ll also need a second grill for the picnic.  Please contact Susan Bobka at [email protected] if you can help with these items.

New Senior Practice Group to Start This Fall
Due to the popularity of our Senior group, MACS will be adding a second level of Senior swimming for swimmers age 13-18 this fall.  This new group (Senior Blue) will practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. and Fridays from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  This practice group will be for swimmers who would like to practice 2-3 times per week, while the other Senior practice group (Senior Green) is for swimmers who plan to attend 4-5 practices per week.  More details to follow soon.

Swim-a-Thon Pledges Need To Be Turned in by June 30
Swim-a-Thon participants should turn in pledge money by June 30.  Please place the donations in the black box by the office at Pier Point.  Congratulations to the Saya family who raised over $2,000 for the Swim-a-Thon!  And a special thanks to all of our participants.  There were some very motivated swimmers at this event!

Fans Needed for the Pier Point Clubhouse
Do you have some unused fans cluttering your garage or basement?  The Pier Point Clubhouse is getting very hot this summer.  Coaches, parents, and swimmers who spend time at the clubhouse would really appreciate some cool breezes.  Please contact Susan Bobka at[email protected] if you have a fan to donate.

Swimmer’s Edge Swim Clinic Scheduled for August 7
MACS will be holding a swim clinic on August 7 from 9-11 a.m.  This clinic is a great opportunity for anyone who might be interested in MACS to visit Pier Point, meet our coaches, and get information about the team—all while getting some time in the pool working on their strokes.  More information will be available soon, including a flyer you can share with fellow swimmers.  Remember that a portion of your fundraising obligations will be waived if you bring a new swimmer to the team who is not affiliated with a USA swim club.   MACS enrollment has dropped from a high of 140 swimmers to roughly 115 swimmers this summer.  We need to get those swimmer numbers up this fall, so please spread the word about our great team.
