Letter of request from mother of Megan Dickey, a 13 year old MACS swimmer who died of cancer several years ago. Please read the letter and participate if you can!

Dear MACS swimmers and friends,

This Sunday at Dick's Sporting Park, the Colorado Kids Cancer Coalition is participating in Step Up For Cancer, and is looking for participants to sign up in their name. This event raises awareness and funds for the many organizations in Colorado that support cancer patients. Each organization that has 20 or more sign up will have a share of the proceeds from the event.

This is an opportunity to earn volunteer hours you may need for school, while helping earn funds for a great cause. The event takes place this Sunday from 9-11 at the park at I-70 and Quebec. Cost to enter is $30 for adults, and $20 for kids 17 and under. All participants receive a goody bag, and the wonderful feeling of doing something for someone else :).

If you would like to participate, go to http://getinvolved.stepupforcancer.org/ColoradoCancerCoalition/ColoradoKidsCancerCoalition  to sign up. your charity, and add CKCA.  Bring your family, bring your friends, breathe some fresh air, and earn some volunteer hours, too!

Heard MACS had a great state meet. Congratulations to everyone, and best wishes for a wonderful break! Hope some of you can do this event--I know it's last minute, but it should be fun and not too tough for your amazingly fit bodies!!! If you go, try to visit the Colorado Kids Cancer Coalition table before or after the event.

Warmest regards,
Jodie Dickey

PS--Note that there is a walking course if you don't want to step. CKCA will benefit just from having people sign up! To learn more about Colorado Kids Cancer Coalition, go to cokidscancer.org --thanks for your interest!

Enjoy the rest of your summer! We'll look forward to seeing you all in a month!
