Breaking News! Records are Going Down!
At the recent TOPS meet Jonah Saya broke three 11-12 boys long course state records in the 800 free, 100 back, and 200 back. These records are in addition to the three state records he broke during short course season in the 11-12 boys 1000 free, 1650 free, and 200 back. The upcoming newsletter will contain a list of all of our swimmers' accomplishments this season, but was written before Jonah broke the three at the TOPS meet.
In addition to Jonah, Bonnie Brandon and John Martens broke state records this year. Bonnie holds new records this year in the 15-16 Girls short course 500 free, 1000 free, and 1650 free and in the 17-18 girls long course 100 and 200 back. She also broke the 17-18 girls short course 100 free, 200 free, 1000 free, 1650 free, 100 back, and 200 back as well as the open girls 500 free, 1000 free, and 1650 free. John Martens broke the 15-16 boys 1650 free record in short course. Bonnie, John, and Jeremiah Zgliczynski are all qualified for the US Nationals and Lauren Stoeckle is qualified for the US Junior Nationals. Bonnie is also qualified for the Olympic Trials in many events.
Also, Jonah was 1st place high point at the Colorado State meet and Alex Tarasov was 2nd place high point at the Colorado state meet in 11-12 boys; 1st and 2nd high point from one team doesn't happen too often; GREAT job boys!! All of this and more (new Top 5 records--65 this season)! will be found in the upcoming newsletter.
Swim-A-Thon Results
Our recent Swim-a-Thon showcased some very dedicated swimmers and raised a bunch of funds for our team. Over $3,500 was raised by 25 MACS families! The MACS coaches and board extend a special thanks to the Saya, Vu, and Gibbs families who solicited donations that far exceeded their annual fundraising requirements. Congratulations swimmers and parents!

It’s Time for Spring Clean-Up on June 3
We need some volunteers to help assist with a spring clean-up at Pier Point on June 3, just prior to our first summer meet. Please contact Teresa at 303.680.6250 if you’re available to help.
Help Needed at MACS June 4 and July 23 Suburban League Meets at Pier Point
Are you interested in seeing how meets are run from the hosting team’s perspective? How do the times translate into the results? Teresa Brandon, our meet director, is retiring in a year and we need someone (or several someones) to shadow her to learn the computer and scoring aspect of running meets. The summer meets are short and easy with no pressure. They are a great way to learn the basics. We also have the opportunity to use a timing console this summer as well. Greg Martens, our console operator, will be retiring at the same time as Teresa so we will need to train additional people on the console. These are very important jobs on our team. None are hard but a certain amount of training and commitment is involved. Please contact Teresa at 303.680.6250 to find out more.
