Swimmer News
The following MACS swimmers were invited to the Colorado Swimming banquet this weekend for recognition for their outstanding performances this past year (state records, All-Star and Zone swimmers): Kristyn Bobka, Bonnie Brandon, Sami Daniels, Juhan Hong, John Martens, Timmy Martin and Jonah Saya. Congratulations!!
The Pan American games will be held October 15th-22nd in Guadalajara, Mexico. The games are held every 4 years like the Olympics and are the 2nd largest sporting event held next to the Olympics. Bonnie was selected to represent the USA based on her performance at US nationals in August. Good luck Bonnie!
Meet Registration
If you plan to attend the MACS Fall Invitational or the NJ Pineapple Open, visit the MACS website asap to complete the swimmer registration. If you have questions about swimming in a meet please check with your coach.
Pool Party at Eaglecrest on Wednesday, October 5th
The MACS Pool Party is scheduled for this coming Wednesday, October 5th at the Eaglecrest High School swimming pool between 6pm-7:45pm. This is a great opportunity for our swimmers to enjoy the pool ‘outside of practice’ and a chance to meet some of the new swimmer families. Here is what we have lined up so far:
MI Sports will be at Eaglecrest for team swim suit fittings, orders and equipment purchases. We will also be taking orders for MACS team apparel (hats, shirts, bags, and more).
Fundraising opportunities will be discussed including details about SCRIPS, meet program advertising sales, and outside concessions. Click here for more information about fundraising on the MACS website.
Timer Training will be provided for those of you interested in helping out at the MACS Fall Invitational. This is not difficult and you get the best seat in the house for watching the swimming!
Meet Officials are necessary to successfully host meets like our Fall/Winter Invitational meets. We will be available to answer questions if you are interested in becoming a US Swimming Official.
Ice cream treats will be provided for all the kids. We look forward to seeing you at the party and welcoming everyone to the start of the season!
SCRIP Sales are Available Now
The first SCRIP orders will be placed on October 6th and October 20th. All orders need to be received by the coaches or in the black box at Pier Point by those dates in order to be processed. Order forms can be found on the MACS website and checks are to be payable to MACS. If you have questions about the SCRIP program, contact Pam Stoeckle at (303) 547-4981 or visit the SCRIP website at www.glscrip.com. We will also talk about the SCRIP program at the Pool Party on October 5th at Eaglecrest.
MACS Invitational Volunteers Needed
Our Fall meet is fast approaching - if you have not already signed up to help, please click on this link to open the volunteer sign up sheet. The team needs all available volunteers to make this event a success for our swimmers and MACS!
Website Updates and Photos
The menus on the MACS website have been updated recently to improve access for our swimmer families and prospective swimmers. The most significant change for existing team members is a 'Parents' tab which contains information about volunteering, fundraising, SCRIP sales, Swim-a-thon, and more. The 'News' tab will contain the latest Newsletters, Splash emails, and important team announcements. As important events are announced, links will be placed right on the home page so they are easy to find.
With many upcoming meets and events, please take your camera and share your team photos for use on the MACS website. If you have a photo to share either email Todd Holmes or upload a photo to the MACS Facebook page.
