Coach Updates
Jonah Saya was selected to the Colorado All-Star team and will compete in Lawrence, Kansas this weekend. The top ten female and male swimmers in the state are chosen in the 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 age groups to compete together as Team Colorado. It is a great accomplishment. Catherine was also selected to coach the team with 5 other Colorado coaches.
Bonnie Brandon and Coach Andy Niemann will be travelling to Texas for Bonnie to compete at the Grand Prix series this weekend. The meet will include most of the top swimmers in the country and is great long course racing preparation for the upcoming Olympic Trials.
MACS was awarded the Silver Medal for club excellence for the fourth year in a row. This award is given to the top 21-100 teams in the nation based on swimmer performance. We were 60th on the list which is a huge accomplishment. Swimmers whose times qualified to earn points for MACS were Bonnie Brandon, John Martens, Reed Mathews, Lauren Stoeckle, and Jeremiah Zgcyliznski.
SCRIP Orders
Reminder: SCRIP orders are due on Thursday, January 12th. The next SCRIP order will be placed on January 26th. If you have not tried the SCRIP program, it is one of the easiest ways to meet your team fund raising requirements. Click here for the order form. Please contact Mary Lou Waite with any questions.
Housekeeping and Lost & Found
MACS Housekeeping: We have two TV’s that we are not using at PP. If you would like one of them, please remove it before January 26th. First Come First Served. The TV’s are sitting to the left of the Fireplace. (Please do not take the one sitting in the corner on the table!) Also please go through the Lost and Found. Items still there by the 26th will be donated to Goodwill on the 27th.
College Recruiting Parent Meeting
A parent meeting to discuss college recruiting information will be held at Pier Point on Tuesday, January 24th at 7pm. If you are interested in learning more about the recruiting process, receiving additional resources, or just have questions please plan to attend. Click here to RSVP. If you have questions, please contact Teresa Brandon at [email protected].
Officials Training
MACS will be hosting a training session for new and returning officials later this month (date and time are still TBD). This is a great opportunity to learn this vital role and help support MACS as a USA Swimming Official. The team is required to provide officials and we could use more help! For more information, please contact Larry Malik at [email protected]. Watch your email for more information.
Practice Cancelled January 16th (MM, G1, G2)
Reminder: Mini Macs, Group 1, and Group 2 will not have practice on Monday, January 16th. Eaglecrest High School will be closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped at last weekend’s MACS Winter Invitational Swim Meet at Smoky Hill High School.
