Please do not sit on the deck at Pier Point

 
Reminder...no spectators are allowed on the deck at Pier Point.  This is a safety concern and a USA Swimming rule we need to follow for our insurance.  Only certified coaches can be on the pool deck.  I admit I have been lenient on this myself at times when one or two parents come and sit, but we need to follow this rule to ensure safety for the team and the best coaching situation for the kids as well.  The pool does not have bleachers to keep people off the actual deck and is not big enough for spectators to be out of the swimmers/coaches space.   There are also too many tripping hazards at the edges of the bubble and  things for siblings to climb etc.  Coaches cannot have their attention on what is going on around them on the pool deck instead of on the pool.  We had an accident 2 summers ago that resulted in a sibling going to the hospital after playing on pool equipment unsupervised.  Thanks for following this policy.  I am reiterating because I know the coaches have had to ask people to leave the deck and I want them to be focused on coaching and not worrying about this or feeling uncomfortable having to enforce it continuously.  Thanks!
