Safe Sport

“The key aspect to the success of the Safe Sport program is for every member to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity that might be a violation of our Code of Conduct. We simply cannot assume that those being abused will voluntarily come forward, even if given the opportunity to do so in a confidential manner.” -Tim Hinchey

Safe Sport is USA Swimming’s program to eliminate sexual abuse and misconduct in our sport. COSA Swimming embraces this program and is committed to providing a safe environment for our members. Sexual abuse and misconduct are not tolerated.

Full implementation of the Safe Sport Program involves six key components:

  • Policies and Guidelines

  • Screening and Selection

  • Training and Education

  • Monitoring and Supervision

  • Recognizing, Responding, and Reporting

  • Grassroots Engagement and Feedback
