GROUP DESCRIPTIONS

Pueblo Swim Club's mission is to provide an environment that allow individuals to have fun, work hard, achieve swimming goals, and develop important life skills to help them succeed throughout life.  With this purpose in mind, we place swimmers with a training group that not only matches their ability level but also allows them to interact with other swimmers with similar levels of commitment, physical and emotional maturity.  We currently hold practices at The Sam Jones  Aquatic Center, located at CSU Pueblo.

BRONZE

  • Description: Our focus is to teach excellent swimming technique (all four competitive strokes) and consistent training habits that will provide a strong foundation for success as a competitive swimmer.
  • Minimum Skills Requirements:  The swimmer must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle using side breathing, and 25 yards of backstroke.  In addition, have been introduced to breaststroke and butterfly.
  • Training Sessions: Four 1 hour sessions per week (dryland will be incorporated into the training sessions)
  • Monthly fees: Monthly Dues - $90;  +  One time fee of $30 for annual USA Swimming Flex membership
  • Training Schedule: Mon & Wed 4-5pm; Fri 4:30-5:30pm; Sat 10:30-11:30am

SILVER

  • Description: This group builds on the foundations set in the Bronze group.  We will continue to focus on technique and consistent training habits, increasing the level of training in intensity and duration.
  • Minimum Skills Requirements: The swimmer must be able to swim 100 yards of freestyle using side breathing, 100 yards of backstroke, 50 yards of butterfly and breaststroke. In addition, SILVER swimmers should be able to execute a flip turn, open turn and racing start.
  • Training Sessions: Four 1.5 hour swim sessions and two-45 min Dryland sessions per week.
  • Competition Level: Local meets strongly encouraged
  • Monthly Fees: Monthly Dues - $100;  + One-time fee of $80 for annual USA Swimming membership
  • Training Schedule: Tue & Thur 4-5:30pm + 5:30-6:15pm dryland; Fri 10-11:30am; Saturday 9-10:30am

GOLD

  • Description: This is our top training group, designed for swimmers who have made swimming their top sport and are committed to challenging themselves in and out of the pool.  Swimmers in this group are expected to show up with a positive attitude, have a strong desire to improve technique, conditioning and competiveness, and participation in all team events and fundraising.  
  • Training Sessions: Seven swim sessions (varying durations) and two 45 min dryland sessions per week
  • Competition Level: All swim meets recommended by the Gold Coach and championship meets (with qualification times).
  • Monthly Fees: Monthly Dues - $115;  + One-time fee of $80 for annual USA Swimming membership
  • Training Schedule: Mon & Wed 5-7pm; Tue & Thur 4:30-5:15pm dryland + 5:30-6:30pm; Fri 8:30-10am + 5:30-7pm; Sat 7-9am
