Swim Pups - Our most novice group for ages 9 & under.

General age range: 5 - 9 years old

Aimed for swimmers 8 & under. The requirements for this group are:

  • Swim 25 yards on stomach, w/face in the water, nonstop
  • Swim 25 yards on back, nonstop
  • Comfortable in deep water without an adult (pools go to 12ft and coaches are on deck)

Lil Dogs Silver - Our most novice group for ages 10 & up.

General age range: 7 - 12 years old

  • Can comfortably swim 50 yards of freestyle with side breathing
  • Can comfortably swim 50 yards of backstroke
  • Has an understanding of Breaststroke and Butterfly but may not yet able to swim them legally
    • Any 8 & unders must have a legal breaststroke and butterfly kick
  • Can do a somersault in the water
  • Can dive from the deck

Lil Dogs Gold

General age range: 9 - 14 years old

  • Can comfortably swim 100 yards of freestyle with side breathing
  • Can legally swim a 100 IM (Individual Medley)
  • Can dive from the block
  • Can do flip turns

Big Dogs

This group is designed for upper elementary and middle school swimmers that have, or are close to, a Silver State cut or faster. This group must have regular practice attendance and participate in at least three meets per season.

General age range: 10 - 14 years old

  • Can comfortably swim 200 yards of freestyle with side breathing
  • Can legally swim a 200 IM (Individual Medley)
  • Can dive from the block
  • Can do flip turns
  • Is mentally mature enough to handle longer practices and harder sets

Top Dogs

This group is designed for middle school swimmers that have, or are close to, a Silver State cut or faster. This group must have regular practice and swim meet attendance.

General age range: 12 - 14 years old

  • Is mentally mature enough to handle longer practices and harder sets
  • Will often be swimming with high schoolers

High School 

Rising Freshman~Seniors

  • Able to comfortably swim 50 yards of all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly)
  • Able to swim 300 yards nonstop
  • Able to do a somersault in the water
  • Able to dive from the deck

High School age swimmers that are unable to complete the above requirements may be placed in a lower level group with younger swimmers.
