Coaches and Directors
Coach Andrew is in his 6th year as the Swim Dogs Head Coach.
Coach Ryan has been coaching longer than she hasn’t. A Colorado native, she began coaching a summer club team in 1997, and immediately loved the opportunities that coaching gave her— to be able to not only teach young athletes how to be better in the water, but also to be able to teach them how to be better friends, teammates, sons & daughters, brothers & sisters, and— most importantly—human beings.
Coach Ryan coached her summer club team for 10 summers before moving on to coach the Girls’ team at Cherry Creek High School for six consecutive seasons— being able to coach both Coach McKenna and Coach Stacy!
Coach Ryan began coaching with Swim Dogs
in 2010 while she was teaching biology full-time at Cherry Creek High School, as
well as training for Paralympic Trials. Ryan met Coach
Andrew while at the
Paralympic Trials in 2012, and the rest is history!
Both Coach Andrew and Ryan
took over ownership of Swim Dogs in 2013 and wake up every
single morning feeling
blessed that we were in the right place at the right
time.
Coach Eriko has been coaching swimming since 2003 and teaching
swimming since 1995 as a teenager. With a strong focus on
technique, she has been coaching 12 & unders for most of her
career. She has coached in several different states and worked with
a diverse set of coaches having learned a great deal along the way.
Raised in both Southern California and Japan she is a graduate of
the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). Her goal is to create a
lifelong love of swimming while coaching them to be well-rounded
swimmers with good sportsmanship and capable in all four strokes.
She lives with her husband, two kids (a Top Dog and a Lil Dog) and
three fur-babies; a dog and two cats. Coach Eriko has been with the
Swim Dogs since the fall of 2018.
I picked up swimming late as a freshman in high school, but quickly fell in love as a member of Pueblo Swim Club. I continued swimming at the college club level with CU Boulder competing against local D2 and D3 teams as well as other club teams around the country. I began coaching summer club and Monarch High School in 2011, eventually leading to coaching for club teams and a masters team in the area. My favorite aspect of swimming and coaching is the continuous refinement of technique and I love to watch kids hit best times!
