SAÚL OLIVARES, ASSISTANT COACH
Saúl has been a senior swim instructor in the YWCA aquatics program for over five years and is now returning for his second season as a Dolphins assistant coach. He coaches swimmers across all age groups, from the Futures 5/6 program through the National team. With a background in Exercise Science from Norwalk Community College, Saúl combines technical precision with a passion for athlete development—helping swimmers build confidence, skill, and a lifelong love for the sport.
As the Dolphin’s Lead Dryland Coach, Saúl designs and leads the strength and conditioning program for State and National swimmers. These twice weekly sessions focus on movement quality, core stability, and injury prevention. Drawing from his background as a certified personal trainer and his education in Exercise Science, Saúl integrates functional training principles to enhance swimmers’ power and body awareness both in and out of the water. His approach emphasizes long-term athlete development and performance sustainability.
