Full Time Coach
Delta Aquatics, a year-round competitive swim club that has operated for more than 20 years, is a coach-owned USA Swimming Silver Medal Club based in Oswego, Illinois, in the western suburbs of Chicago. Delta serves swimmers from beginner through Senior and National competition and is known for a positive, athlete-centered culture, strong technical development, and a seamless pathway that connects our lesson program to our competitive team.

Position Summary
Delta is seeking a Full Time Coach to join our staff beginning in March/April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an established and ever-growing competitive swimming program and play a key role in its continued development and success.

We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated coach who is committed to expanding swimmers’ abilities and working collaboratively with our coaching team. The ideal candidate is passionate about swimming, focused on athlete development, and enjoys working with children and teens. In addition to being reliable and a good communicator, the ideal candidate will possess high ethical standards and will be as invested in our swimmers’ character and personal development as they are in their competitive progress.

The coach will lead two training groups appropriate to their experience and goals, assist with additional groups as needed, and play an active role in team operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, write, and lead comprehensive season and yearly training plans that include water, dryland, and educational components designed to prepare swimmers for the next level of training and competition.
• Provide age- and skill-appropriate training and feedback with an emphasis on individual growth, teamwork, and competitive technique, including stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and race skills
• Create an engaging, positive training environment that promotes learning, effort, and enjoyment
• Model professionalism, positivity, and sportsmanship at all times while supporting athlete well-being
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and coaches, maintaining a collaborative,transparent approach
• Work closely with the coaching staff to ensure a unified approach to training and athlete progression

Qualifications

• Competitive swimming and coaching experience
• Current USA Swimming coach credentials, or ability to obtain promptly
• Knowledge of current technique development, stroke mechanics, and training methods
• Positive, energetic presence on deck who models teamwork, reliability and strong communication
• Strong organizational skills and familiarity using SportsEngine, Meet Manager, and Google Workspace
• Availability to work evenings and weekends, including meets

The Head Coach of the Tosa Aquatic Club is a part-time role (up to 30 hours per week in-season, with occasional additional hours during championship periods) responsible for leading the year-round USA Swimming–affiliated competitive swim program. This includes direct supervision of swimmers and a team of experienced assistant coaches.

Tosa Aquatic Club is a long-standing and growing program based in Wauwatosa, WI, a Milwaukee suburb with a strong community and swimming tradition. This role requires not only strong leadership and organizational skills but also a genuine passion for helping athletes achieve their potential. Successful candidates will demonstrate patience, reliability, and excellent communication with swimmers, parents, assistant coaches, the Parent Board, and Recreation Program staff. 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience coaching competitive swimming.
• Strong knowledge of stroke mechanics, USA Swimming rules/regulations, and age-appropriate dryland training.
• Background as a competitive swimmer strongly preferred.
• Enthusiastic, positive, and able to motivate young athletes.
• Availability for at least 4 weeknight practices, with flexibility for morning practices or scheduling assistant coaches to cover them.

• Recruit, train, and supervise assistant coaches, including scheduling and meet coverage.

• Communicate effectively with swimmers, families, the Parent Board, and the Recreation Department.
• Foster professional collaboration with recreation staff and local high school coaches.
• Schedule team participation in USA Swimming meets, organize relays, assist with swimmer event entries, and submit team registrations.

Position Summary: The Tosa Aquatic Club Assistant Coach is a part time position responsible for following the directives of the Head Coach and providing a safe positive environment for the swimmers. Tosa Aquatic Club (USA Competitive Swim Team) is based in Wauwatosa, WI, a suburb of Milwaukee. This position requires solid leadership, but more importantly, a dedication to coaching swimmers to reach their full potential. A successful candidate will possess a high degree of patience, dependability and a strong commitment to communication with Recreation Program Coordinator, Head Coach, parent board, swimmers and parents.

Qualifications:

• Must possess current Red Cross Lifeguarding certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days. Water Safety Instructor (W.S.I.) certification or equivalent experience/training preferred (instructor is responsible for updating and keeping certification current). Able to obtain Safety Training for Swim Coaches, and USA certification within 60 days of hire, or show proof that it has been completed, and maintain USA Coaching certifications and standards. Must also be able to pass the USA Swimming background check and Wauwatosa School District background check prior to final hire.
• 1 year of coaching background, preferred; Club coaching experience desired.
• Have a passion for competitive swimming, enthusiasm for working with young athletes, and be able to coach and motivate swimmers with a positive approach.
• Have a strong knowledge of stroke and swimming technique.
• Available for at least 2-4 weeknight practices (and potentially morning practices added to the schedule during the summer).
• Available to coach weekend club designated meets as assigned by Head Coach.
• Must complete USA Swimming Annual training requirements.
• Must complete Welcome to USA Swimming Quality Coaching Framework Training at time of hire. If completed with another team, will need to provide proof.
• Must complete USA Swimming Core Certification and Rules and Regulations for Coaches prior to 2nd year of coaching. If completed with another team, will need to provide proof.
• Must complete USA Swimming’s Concussion Protocol Training within 30 days of hire.
• Must complete the Safety Training for Swim Coaches online course, test, and in-water skill session (skill session satisfied with lifeguard certification).

• Must complete the online Athlete Protection Training course annually.
• Knowledge of Team Unify a plus.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop daily practices and conduct practices, with potential review by Head Coach.
• Work with Head Coach to develop daily workout schedules – conduct daily practices; proven
• ability to write/modify practices for various levels of ability, a plus

Founded in 1991, OCSC is a non-profi t, board-led swim club with approximately 150 swimmers ranging in age from 6-18. The role requires a blend of leadership qualities, coaching expertise and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will work alongside the current Head Coach to guide and support swimmers across all levels- fostering growth in both community-based and elite-level athletes- while cultivating a team culture grounded in responsibility, respect, accountability and fun.

The Head Coach and Associate Head Coach will collaborate to lead program planning, mentor assistant coaches, and work closely with the volunteer parent Board of Directors to advance the club’s mission and long term success.

Primary Responsibilities :

Leadership & Development

• Handle meet entries, relays, and team logistics; coach or assign coach coverage for meets
• Organize and help host OCSC swim meets alongside the Board
• Monitor swimmer development, maintain records, and provide constructive feedback

Administrative Responsibilities

• Attend and report at monthly Board Meetings
• Ensure smooth team operations through eff ective planning and collaboration
• Utilize Team Unify, and other tools for roster, meet and record management

Qualifications :

• Minimum 3 years of coaching experience; Head Coach experience strongly preferred.
• Strong background in competitive swimming, stroke mechanics, age-appropriate dryland training techniques
• USA Swim Coaching Certifi cation in good standing (or ability to obtain)
• Current CPR, First Aid, AED, and Lifeguarding certifi cations (or ability to obtain)
• Prove ability to coach and motivate young athletes of all ages and abilities ● Experience mentoring staff and managing multi-level programs ● Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills
• Proficiency with Sports Engine Motion, Meet Manager and basic Microsoft Offi ce skills

 Availability for evening and weekend practices/meets, and occasional morning practices as pool time allows

Compensation

• Minimum $40K salary to commensurate with experience and qualifi cations
• Full-time position with variable hours including weekends
• PTO- 14 days exclusive of 3 holidays, fl exible time off between seasons
