FAST-Sierra Nevada Junior Olympic Long Course Championship Team
Congratulations to the Fernley Aquatic Swim Team (Fast) swimmers who competed at the Sierra Nevada Junior Olympic (JO) Long Course Championships on July 26-29 held in Roseville, California. The event had 1200 swimmers competing. Even though none of the swimmers Jasmine (Jazz) Schaffer, Mackenzie (Mac) Clark, Michaela (Mic) Whitfield, and Morgan Miller made the finals night, the swimmers dropped times or came in at their times. Other team members Seth Holderman and Makenzie Peek Had conflicting interest and chose not to attend.
Among those receiving best times were Mackenzie (Mac) Clark, and Morgan Miller, who also achieved a new standard time and "AA" time. They all displayed great sportsmanship, excellent training, and superior effort! Way to go FAST swimmers.
The team is now training hard for the upcoming Sierra Nevada State Championships schedule for November 2007 and being held in Carson City, Nevada this year. Coach Lupe Schaffer is shooting to take more of the swim team to the State Championships in November.
