Fernley Aquatic Swim Team (Sharks)
Swimmer Qualifications
Each swimmer 9 years and older must be able to safely swim two lengths of the 25 yard pool, using freestyle stroke with breathing, and must complete two lengths using backstroke.
Swimmers 8 and under must be able to safely swim one length of the 25 yard pool, using freestyle stroke with breathing, and must complete one length using backstroke.
These lengths should be unassisted, and to the satisfaction of the coach in charge.

Team Structure
Tiger Sharks
Expectations:

Swimmers must know that it is important to have caps, goggles, and extra towels every day!

These swimmers should know how to swim at least 100 yards of Freestyle and 100 yards of Backstroke.

Swimmers are also expected to come to practice with an open mind and ready to learn.
Hammerheads
Expectations:
- Must be on time, stretched out and in the water every day.

Must know what each stroke is and how it is properly done.

Must be well mannered in the pool and understand that they influence the younger/beginner swimmers.
Makos
All swimmers in this group are experienced swimmers and have a history longer than at least 1 year of swimming. This group is the highest level of swimming for the Fernley Aquatics Swim Team. There is a higher level of expectations for this group.
Expectations:
- Must be on time, stretched out and in the water every day.

Must always have all supplies (suit, cap, goggles, and an extra towel)

Must have extensive knowledge of all warm up routines, strokes, starts, finishes, turns, and proper meet etiquette.
These swimmers must be 100% dedicated to jump starting their swimming careers. This group must understand that they are leaders and influences on our team. All swimmers must know and follow all team and pool rules. They must act appropriately! Team spirit only helps pump up the rest of the team, this group is expected to maintain and lead team cheers and encourage team spirit. Must know when it’s time to have fun and when it’s time to be serious!
