    FERNLEY AQUATIC (SHARKS) SWIM TEAM RESULTS

     

    Seven Swimmers attended-The meet had 300 athletes attend from

    California and Nevada

     

            7-8 group

    Jadan Rotton:  8 years old, shaved a total of 18.57 seconds. Jadan ended the meet with 3 new best times, one of the three was a new standard achieved, as well, as a Sierra Nevada State Qualifying time in the 50 yard (yd) freestlye (this was the first time Jadan swam the 50 free). This was not only Jadan's second meet but his second week swimming for the team. Jadan has two Sierra Nevada State Qualifying times so far this year.

     

    Makenzie (Kenzie) Peek:  8 years old, competed and swam her best. Makenzie has ten Sierra Nevada State Qualifying times so far this year.

     

            9-10 group

    Mackenzie (Mac) Clark :  9 years old, shaved a total of 56.11 seconds. MacKenzie (Mac) ended the meet with eight new best times. Three of the eight swam were new standard achieved times as well as new "B" times. Mac has four Sierra Nevada State Qualifying times so far this year. Mac has remain consistant this year as one of are new age up swimmers, swimming very fast races.

     

             13-14 groups

    Jasmine (Jazz) Schaffer:  13 years old, shaved a total of 3.21 seconds. Jazz ended the meet with two new best times. One of the two was not only a "BB" time but a new standard achieved time, as well as a Sierra Nevada State Qualifying time in the 100 yd breaststroke. Jazz swam the 200 yd butterfly for the first time and came in 4th and within 4 seconds of a State Qualifying Time. Jazz has four Sierra Nevada State Qualifying times so far this year.

     

     

    Kyla Rotton:  13 years old, shaved a total of 3.1 seconds. Kyla ended with four new best times. Kyla also swam the 200 yd butterfly for the first time and came in 5th.

     

    Morgan Miller:  13 years old, completed and swam her best. Morgan's best times (AA, A, BB,B) are already so fast that her times get tighter as she continues to compete. Morgan has ten Sierra Nevada State Qualifying times so far this year.  She is 0.86 seconds from setting a State time on her 500 Freestyle and her 11th event.

     

    Cameron Peek:  13 years old, shaved a total of 40.11 seconds. Cameron ended with six new best times. This was the third time he swam the 200 yd butterfly and placed 6th.  He was the first FAST swimmer to swim the 200 yd butterfly on the team. This stroke is one of the most difficult strokes to master.

     

    The Sierra Nevada State Championships is scheduled for November 9-12, to be held in Carson City at the Carson Swim Center .  Close to 3,000 swimmers are expected to compete over the four day period. Next year this event will be held in Las Vegas .
