What If My Swimmer...?

Needs to Make Up a Test?

Education is a top priority, and we fully support our swimmers' academic commitments. If a swimmer needs to make up a test or attend an academic event, it is crucial to communicate this with the coaching staff as soon as possible. Planning ahead ensures that academic responsibilities are met without compromising the swimmer's obligations to the team. Clear communication is essential to balance both academic and athletic commitments effectively.

Is in a Year-Round Club Team FULL-TIME?

Full Time Club swimmers are defined as swimmers that are actively training with their club team at least 4 day a week during high school season. These swimmers are required:

Tuesday/Thursday AM practice if a meet is scheduled in the PM or Tuesday/Thursday PM when there are not scheduled meets.

Is in a Year-Round Club Team PART-TIME?

Part-Time Club swimmers are defined as swimmers that are part of a club team, but they focus on high school season training. These swimmers are required:

Minimum 5 practices per week

Is Sick?

In the event of illness, such as the seasonal flu, a doctor's note is required upon the swimmer's return to practice. If a swimmer feels unwell but does not need to see a doctor, they are still expected to attend practice for low-impact dry land exercises or to work on homework. This helps maintain their training plan. Exceptions can be made, but the coaching staff must be informed before the practice session.

Has a Doctor's Appointment?

Whenever possible, schedule doctor's appointments on Fridays or Mondays, either before or after practice. If possible, consider waiting until the season concludes to arrange non-urgent appointments. Missing a day of practice can equate to losing 3-4 days of swimming progress. Exceptions can be made, but it is essential to discuss these with the coaching staff prior to the appointment.

By adhering to these guidelines and maintaining open lines of communication with the coaching staff, swimmers can successfully balance their academic and athletic pursuits.
