His previous teams have consistently placed high in regional and state competitions, showcasing their talent and commitment.

Central to Coach Carlos' philosophy is the belief that swimming and diving are more than just sports—they are vehicles for teaching life skills. He focuses on instilling values such as hard work, discipline, determination, responsibility, and accountability in his athletes. Developing Future Champions
Coach Carlos is passionate about creating a program where swimmers can continue to develop their skills and pursue their dreams beyond high school. Under his guidance, many athletes have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, furthering their swimming careers at institutions like OBU, Rollins, FSU, Queen NC, and Weslyn Robberts. He has also had swimmers qualifying for state championships like FLAGS, Senior Champs, Sectionals, and national qualifiers in Futures and Junior Nationals.

Coaching Journey and Achievements
As I enter my sixth year of coaching swimming, pride and excitement fill me. My journey began at Fletcher Middle School, where I spent two seasons nurturing young talent. Moving to Fletcher High School was a pivotal point, allowing me to work with swimmers and divers I’ve watched grow since 7th grade—they’re now about to become seniors!
At Fletcher High School, the teams have excelled. The girls’ team has won the Gateway Championship three years in a row, and the boys’ team for the past two. Last year, both teams were District Champions, and we sent 11 athletes to the State Championships. The boys’ team finished 6th overall, setting three school records!
Teaching and Family Legacy
Besides coaching, I’m entering my 11th year teaching U.S. History at Fletcher High, with 19 years in education. My husband and I are proud Fletcher graduates, as are our two younger children. We cheer, “Go Senators!”
This blend of coaching, teaching, and personal ties to Fletcher fuels my dedication to fostering an environment where young athletes and students thrive. I look forward to another inspiring year at Fletcher High School.

Family and Diving: Her passion for diving extends beyond her professional life. As the parent of a collegiate diver at Davidson College, she has a personal connection to the sport that fuels her commitment. Her insight as a parent adds a unique perspective to her coaching.
Active Supporter: When not coaching, she’s cheering on her daughter at college meets or supporting her son at high school pole vault competitions. Her involvement in her children’s sports shows her dedication to both.

Ben's love for swimming started at the beaches. As a Fletcher High School alum (Class of 2014), returning to the FHS Swim & Dive team is a homecoming filled with enthusiasm. Under Coach Carlos, Ben aims to elevate the program, bringing his experience and passion for the sport.

Ben is married with three kids who all love the water. He stays active with regular swimming and triathlons, and enjoys chasing his young kids. His return to Fletcher isn't just about coaching—it's about inspiring the next generation through his passion and example.

My Journey with Fletcher High School
Hello! I'm Victoria Rafferty, proudly entering my fifth year with Fletcher High School's Swim & Dive program. I have loved being the team mom, initially with the Beaches Aquatic Club for five years, and now with FHS. My journey began in Illinois, but Florida and Fletcher High have become home.
Family and Professional Life
I'm happily married with two children who have both been part of the FHS swim team. Beyond the team, I'm a full-time dental hygienist, a career that has taught me precision, care, and communication—skills I bring to my role.
