As I told the swimmers on Friday before the meet began, this is just the beginning!  At Miami Country Day Aquatics, our program is built upon the fundamental principle that all swimmers get progressively faster throughout their swimming careers.  All that we do, from our youngest Pathways swimmers to next year’s Varsity team, is designed to create ongoing success.

The achievements of our state contenders this year are the product of years of hard work, perseverance and focused daily efforts.  In looking forward, one only has to stop by the pool any weekday afternoon and see the next budding crop of Spartan swimmers.

Within ten years, Spartan Swimming aims to win a state championship title.  This will only be possible if:

-          our youngest developing swimmers continue to commit to swimming a few times per week and attend as many competitions as possible

-          our age group swimmers attend practices regularly and strive to qualify for local and regional championship meets

-          our senior development swimmers increase their training levels and daily intensity and work to make Sectional and Zone level cuts

-          our highest level swimmers remain driven to be the best they can be each day and look towards Junior National qualifications

JFK once remarked, “a rising tide lifts all boats,” relative to the idea that the successes of a few individuals can spark the desires and motivations of a larger group and yield increased success for all.  In that same way, let the successes of this year’s Spartan Swimming State Team serve as a guiding inspirational force for all our swimmers as we pursue a bright future ahead!
