ALL PRACTICES & LESSONS FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY ARE CANCELED

It’s just a few days into the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season, and the first storm is developing. Potential Tropical Cyclone #1 is likely to become Tropical Storm Alex before it comes into contact with Florida this weekend.

Although the system still remains disorganized, it is expected to quickly strengthen as it veers northeastward and feeds off the warm Gulf of Mexico over the next 24 to 30 hours. It currently sits just below tropical storm intensity, and once the system gains a little more organization that is likely to be attained. It would be given the first name on the list, “Alex.”

Most of South Florida will see 4½ to 9½ inches of rain — though I still can’t rule out that some neighborhoods may exceed 10 inches (250 millimeters) of rain, maybe even a foot!

We will see you all on Monday, June 6th.

STAY DRY AND STAY SAFE.
