The Importance of Maintaining Swim Training Through the Cooler Months

Eric Scheingoltz

Hello Spartan Swimming Families

I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to express how impressed I am with the dedication your children have shown over these past months. It’s been inspiring to watch their hard work turn into real progress, building strength, confidence, and skill in the pool. With cooler weather here, I understand that some of you may be considering a break from training. However, I’d like to share why maintaining their training during this season is so valuable to their development.

The pool is heated, ensuring that your swimmer will stay warm and comfortable during practice. Consistency in training is a key ingredient to success, especially in swimming. Taking a break now doesn’t just mean a loss of momentum – it often means a complete restart of their training, which can require considerable effort and weeks, if not months, to regain the skills and progress they currently have. Meanwhile, their peers who continue training will move even further ahead.

A consistent routine allows your child to keep building on their current achievements, pushing them closer to their goals. By staying the course, they’ll not only preserve the foundation they’ve worked so hard to build but will also continue to gain strength, resilience, and confidence week by week.

Thank you for considering this, and for your commitment to supporting your child’s growth and success. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns – I’m here to help in any way I can!

Warm regards,
