End of the SCY Season & Save the Date

Dear Spartan Swim Team Families,

I hope you are staying warm as we barrel through this epic cold front that has hit Miami.  We are so proud of the athletes’ commitment and their level of dedication as they have continued to swim through the cold and wet days this week.  A quick reminder that there are still a limited number of spots left on the February 1st Fast & Frosty Swim Fest Block Party Meet.  If you have not signed up yet, please do so now! This will for sure be a fun time for all.

As we approach the end of our Short Course season, we want to ensure all our swimmers, and their families are informed and prepared for the exciting meets coming up. These events are an integral part of our swimmers' development and a culmination of their hard work this season. Please mark your calendars for the following key meets:

Save the Dates:

  1. BC Invite: February 15th & 16th, Westland Gardens Park Pool, Hialeah Gardens
    • This meet is open to all age groups and is specifically for swimmers who have not yet achieved a 2025 BB National Age Group Motivational Time Standard in the events they enter.
    • Meet Entries are Dues ASAP, let us know by Monday, February 3rd
  2. BB Championships: February 21-23, Academic Village Pool, Pembroke Pines
    • This meet is also open to all age groups but is limited to swimmers who have achieved a 2025 BB National Age Group Motivational Time Standard but have not yet achieved an Age Group Championships (for swimmers 14 & under) or a Senior Championship (for swimmers 15 & over) Time Standard.
  3. Age Group Championships: March 6-9, Location TBD
    • This meet is for qualifiers only who are 14 years old and under.
  4. Senior Championships: March 20-23, Academic Village Pool, Pembroke Pines
    • This meet is for qualifiers only who are 15 years old and over.

Understanding the LSC Series:

Our Local Swimming Committee (LSC), the Florida Gold Coast (FGC), operates with a progression of meets designed to provide competitive opportunities for swimmers at all levels. Participation in these meets is essential for swimmers to gain experience, improve their skills, and progress through the competitive ranks.

The BC Invite and BB Championships are steppingstones for our swimmers, helping them advance to higher-level meets such as the Age Group Championships or Senior Championships. By participating in these events, swimmers not only work towards achieving personal bests but also contribute to the overall success of our team.

We encourage all families to prioritize these meets and support their swimmers in attending. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their hard work, bond with teammates, and gain valuable race experience.

Next Steps:

  • Confirm Attendance: Please let us know your swimmer’s availability for these meets by Monday February 3rd.
