2024 SYS Turkey Meet
2024 Sea Dragon Aquatics Frosty Freeze
Time has gotten away from me and the schedule of the last month and a half. These two meets the Hurricane Swimmers had great gains in the water.
Remember these reports are to highlight those that competed in different categories of recognition.
We will start with the Shark’s Turkey Meet. This meet was help over the weekend of 11/15/2024 in Sarasota at Potter Park. We had 27 Hurricane’s show up and enjoy some great competition in the pool with several larger team. The results were awsume.
The Biggest Looser Award: this goes out to the swimmer who lost the most time in their events during the entire meet.
Biggest Looser for this meet is from CAT 2, Roman(10) who dropped a total of 28.80 seconds over his 5 events.
2nd Looser Jacob(13) leaving 23.63 seconds in the pool.
3rd Looser Mark(10) dropping 9.72 seconds in only two events.
Swimmers earning new motivational times. USA Swimming has developed a motivational goal for each stroke and each age group. These times help swimmers to see their progress in the pool. You can find these goal time at this link CLICK HERE. Swimmers reaching these goal times include:
Liz(15) BB in 200 Back, A in 100 Breast and 200 Free
Yulia(14) BB in 200 IM and A in 100 Free
Mia (10) B in 50 Breast
Ava(13) BB in 200 Free
Audrey(15) BB in 200 Free
Making a new cut for a Championship Meet. Making a cut gives a swimmer the right to swim in a championship meet to compete against some of the best swimmers in Florida Swimming.
Liz(15) has a new cut in the 100 Breast for the Senior Championship
Next we have the Sea Dragon Aquatics Frosty Freeze. This meet is a Prelim/Finals meet. Swimmers 11 and over swam in the morning for the right to come back in the later afternoon to swim again for points and awards in finals. Swimmers 10 and under swam only one time for their points and awards. During this meet we had a several swimmers earning metals for 1st-3rd. We even had a High Points award winner.
Biggest Loosers:
David(15) dropping a total of 30.85 seconds.
Cadence(13) leaving 30.41 seconds in the pool.
Ember(9) dropping 27.01 seconds
High Points winner. This award goes out to the Girl/Boy that earns the most points during the meet for each age group. Hurricanes had a top High Points Winner:
Jacob(13) 1st place in Boy 13-14 year olds.
Earning new motivational times include:
Jacob(13) B time in 50 Free
Liz(15) A time in 200 Breast and 200 IM
Yulia(14) BB time in 200 Fly
Ava(13) B time in 100 Breast
Allen(15) B time in 100 Back and BB time in 50 Free
David(15) B in 200 Free and 50 Free
Harper(10) B in 50 Breast
Earning a new Senior Championship Cut is Liz(15) in 200 Breast.
Our next meet in January 11, 2025 in Sarasota at the Arlington Pool. This is a great meet for all swimmers on the team to get in the water and see where they are in training. Hope everyone signs up. It is my hope that I will get this meet report out quicker and demands on time slows down as the new year enters.
