Dual Meet Report
Meet Report for our Dual Meet
October 15, 2025
Well, I do not know what to say. I think our Hurricanes did frightfully ghoulish today in the pool. This is the first time in a super long time that we have had a meet in our own home pool. First true dual meet in our pool. It is hoped that the swimmers had a fiendishly ghastly time at the meet. We had some great swims that could have scared the fright out of any Spector watching.
Lets get to our awards for this meet.
The top award is our Biggest Losers.
Swimming with a ghost in her pocket and dropping a whopping 29.78 seconds in 3 events is Avery (12). She must have really been a strong motivation to swim hard. Avery is the Top Biggest Looser this meet.
2nd looser today is Mark (11) laying down a great 9.58 seconds
3rd looser is Silvana(13) who dropped an impressive 6.84 seconds.
4th looser is Luciana (11) keeping up with her older sister and loosing 5.42 seconds.
We had a quite a few that tried new events and even their first meet ever. This includes:
Lillian(13), Artem(12), Callen(15), Phoebe (13), Aiden(9), Jackson (13), Boris (10), Emery (8), Silvana (13), Victtoriana(8), Maiya(10), Lucia(8). Each of these swimmers tried something new showed that they are not afraid of NO GHOST.
Moving up in the motivational time groups, we had a few.
Jacob (14) A in 50 Free
Ava(13) B in 50 Free
Callen(15) BB in 50 Free
Manny(12) B in 50 Free
Erynn(13) BB in 50 Fly
Parents, you should each be so proud of your swimmers. They all got up on the blocks and made a great splash in the pool. Yes, swimming is about getting faster, but it is also learning what they can do and how far they can push themselves. Even if your swimmer did not have the greatest of meets and their times may not have dropped, there is lessons to learn there. Next meet is a new start to get ready for. Everyone did great today.
The excitement was electric around the pool. Lets keep that energy going. See you at practice to make things even better.
Parents that stepped up and helped with one of the jobs running this meet. An extra special ghostly scare for you. Without your help, this meet would not have happened. It is our hope that we can have more meets like this one. In order to do this, we will need more support. One area that we really need help in is Officials. Only 3 of the officials on deck were from the teams present. Please, consider learning to become and official the team and you swimmer will benefit from it.
Do not forget that the YMCA has Trunk – r- Treat tonight from 5-7 in the parking lot. Hope to see you there.
Go Hurricanes,
