Florida Swimming has released the roster for the Open Water All-Star Challenge to be held on June 12 at Ft. Myers Beach, FL. GCST swimmers making the team are: Darrien Heil (11-12), Savannah Bower (13-14), Kailyn Hauser (13-14), Blake Woodrow (13-14), Hannah Albion (15-18), and Eddie Zacka (15-18). Full Team Roster

GCST swimmers had a great Mini Meet at San Carlos Park Pool on Tuesday May 24th. Paige Madden made 4 new FLAG qualifying times in the 11-12 Girls events. GCST swimmers had several good swims with 112 improved times. Several GCST swimmers did very well in their first swim meet. GCST swimmers, Savannah Bowser, and Blake Woodrow were selected to attend the Southern Zone Select Camp in Louiville, KY on May 26-28, 2011. They are 2 out of 10 elite swimmers selected from the Florida Swimming LSC. Florida Swimming teams with athletes attending are Fast Lane, Gator Swim Club, Gulf Coast Swim Team, Sarasota YMCA, and West Florida. 28 male and 28 female athletes are selected in each of the four Zones. GCST swimmers had a great weekend at the T2 Norris Foundation Meet in Naples, FL. We had 19 new championships cuts, and 246 improved times at this mid season meet. Many of younger swimmers had some great swims and improvements with minimal dq's. Great job by our age group coaches! T2 did a great job hosting us, and Clearwater Aquatic Team made the meet very competitive between the 3 teams. Molly DuBrasky was selected as the News-Press Girls Athlete of the Year for 2010-11. Molly was chosen as the area's top female athlete based on her 5 State Swimming Championship Titles in 3 years, and 2 Swimmer of the Year Awards. Congratulations to Molly for her hard work and excellence in the pool and the classroom. Molly will represent the University of Florida this Fall as she swims for the Gators.
