A memorial was held at FGCU at the end of the 1A District meet prelims.  Swimmers, and coaches at the meet lined the pool as GCST coach Gregg Cross read a statement about Fran Crippen.  Swimmers around the world held this type of ceremony to honor Fran on October 30, 2010. All GCST swimmers advance to Regionals Freshman Matt Nielsen won District Titles in the 200, and 500 Free in the District 1A-9 meet at FGCU on October 30th.  Hannah Albion is the District Champion in the 200 Free and finished 2nd in the 500 Free.  Nick Deguzman finished 4th in the 200 IM, and 4th in the 500 Free as he swam personal best times in both events.   Way to go GCST swimmers!!!

All GCST swimmers move on to Regionals....Molly DuBrasky hits All-American standard...3 GCST swimmers are Double District Champions GCST Swimmers had an outstanding night at the District 2A-10 meet at FGCU on October 15th.  Molly DuBrasky, Courtney DeVeny, and Kyle Snew continued their winning ways as they each won 2 events, and Molly being the only swimmer in the meet to post an All American Automatic Time in the 500 Free.  Molly DuBrasky cruised to wins in the 200 and 500 Free with dominating performances in each event.  Courtney DeVeny crushed...

  GCST Masters hosted the Fall Masters Meet at FGCU.  Awesome job racing and hosting the meet.  Many good swims in our first 25 meter meet. Meet results here...

Here is a great video of swimming in the Florida Gold Coast before Coach Don, and Coach Connie were just starting out as young age groupers. Notice there are no goggles, and no lane ropes.  Video

 GCST's Molly DuBrasky, Kyle Snew, and Courtney DeVeny claim double titles GCST swimmers had an outstanding LCAC Meet at the Lee County / FGCU Aquatic Center on Wednesday October 20th.  Molly DuBrasky swam her last conference meet in winning fashion as she claimed titles in the 200 Free, and 500 Free.  Courtney DeVeny swam her first LCAC Meet and came home with titles in the 200 IM, and 100 Back.  Kyle Snew finished up strong in his last conference meet with titles in the 200 IM, and 500 Free.  ...

Three GCST swimmers travelled to Orlando for the FSPA High School Invitational Meet on Saturday October 9th.  Matt Nielsen swam a personal best time of 4:58.94 to finish 14th in the 500 Free, and a personal best in the 200 Free 1:55.87. Michael Pineda swam a personal best time of 50.44 to finish 14th in the 100 Free, and a personal best time in the 50 Free with a 23.28. GCST Wins City of Tampa Classic Meet...Zach Brewer, Madeline Willoughby, and Darrien Heil win High Point Awards GCST swimmers traveled to the City of Tampa Nike Classic and won the team high point award.  Individual High Point winners were Zach Brewer 8 & Under Boys, Madeline Willoughby 10 & Under Girls, and Darrien Heil 11-12 Boys.  High Point runner ups were Jesse Walsh 10 & Under Girls, Kevin Ordaz 10 & Under Boys, Savannah Bowser 11-12 Girls, Dani Lea Jordan Senior Girls, and Eric Ordaz Jr. Senior Boys. Heather Roka finished 3rd overall and won her age group at the Siesta Key Open Water 5k race. Way to go Heather!!!

Registrations must be completed by December 20th.  Swimmers not registerd by the 31st will not be able to swim until registration is completed after January 3rd. Current GCST Members that have not registered for 2011 will need to do so through our Online Registration System.  A check must be turned in to complete the registration process. All GCST swimmers must be registered for 2011 to attend workouts, and meets. Take care of it now before the holidays. 2011 USA Swimming Online Registration
