Melissa Wilborn
Melissa Wilborn is a certified ASCA Level 4 Coach with 36 years of coaching experience. Before starting with the DeKalb Aquatics Swim Team in 1995, she gained most of her coaching experience as a summer league coach for DeKalb County. While coaching various summer league teams she brought three consecutive county victories to the Brook Glen Dolphins, now called the Lithonia Dolphins.
Melissa was born and raised in Decatur, Georgia, and graduated from Towers High School. She is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Master of Education in Exercise Physiology and Health Promotion. Before attending Auburn, she spent two years at Georgia State University where she swam for the swim team. Before leaving the swim program at Georgia State Melissa broke eight school records, two conference records, and was named Geogia State Female Athlete of the Year (1990). After transferring on a swim scholarship to Auburn University she attained NCAA All-American and NCAA Academic All-American status. Her other most notable accomplishments include qualifying for the 1992, Olympic Trials in the 50-meter Freestyle, Top 16 finish at USA Nationals in 50-meter Freestyle, and a Top 50 in the World Ranking in the 50-meter Freestyle.

Mujahid El-Amin (MJ)
Mujahid El-Amin II, was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Following a family tradition of athletic swimmers, he aspired to be the unsurpassed early on. At age 3, he started the Learning to Swim Process and then eventually joined a year-round swim team. During his childhood career, Mujahid obtained recognition as a star athlete for the City of Atlanta Dolphins and the state of Georgia.
Currently, he continues to train for future endeavors. With the support of his community, family, and friends, has developed a system that helps build speed, stroke technique, endurance, and character in the sport of swimming for aspiring young athletes.
Career Accolades
- Age of 9, ranked first in the 9-10 age group.
- Joel Ferrell Award (1997, 1998) which identified him as the most outstanding swimmer of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympics.
- Georgia State Champion in the 100-meter and 100-yards Butterfly (1997 – 2000)
- A total of ten National Age Group records in the Breaststroke and Butterfly
- Three Southern Zone records
- Most Outstanding Swimmer for the state of Georgia (2003 – 2006)
- United States Swimming Junior National Team with which he traveled to Brisbane Australia for competition (2004)
- Olympic trials (2004)
- For his dedication and accomplishments in the sport of swimming, the Atlanta City Council proclaimed, on February 16th, “Mujahid El-Amin Day"
- Full swim scholarship to Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) majoring in Education (2006)
- NCAA Most Outstanding Swimmer for the Northeastern Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving
- Captain of FAMU Swim Team (2007)
