14 & under State Wrap up

2012 14 & Under State Championship Wrap-Up

The DAQ Coaching Staff would like to congratulate our team on a job well done this year at 14 & Under State Championships which was held at Georgia Tech July 18^th -21^st, 2012.  The entire coaching staff was delighted to witness from each swimmer consecutive time drops in all events swam, for example some swimmers noting time improvements as large as 3 seconds in their 50m races, as large as 8 seconds in their 100m swims, as large as 30 seconds in their 200m swims, as large as 50 seconds in their 400m Swims, and we also were also able to watch our distance swimmers improve by as much as 2 minutes! 

Dekalb Aquatics placed 3^rd overall in our Division. As a team we placed 7^th overall out of all teams that swam at State this summer. This year was a unique swimming experience as the swim meet was scored by each individual age group of 11, 12, 13, and 14 year olds. The Top 10 swimmers in each age group scored points for their teams. As a team we would like to also congratulate Alex Taylor for his achievements in scoring High Point Winner for his age group.
