Age Group Divisions

Age Group:

Our Age Group Divisions are designed to introduce athletes to a more progressive training environment while refining competitive strokes and skills. As an athlete progresses through these groups, they will be pushed appropriately for their age and skill level. Dryland training is introduced as a means of building foundational strength, coordination and mobility. Swimmers at this level are generally aged 10-14 years old.  With 4 subgroups: Prep, Red, Silver and Gold there is a place for every skill level and a consistent progression through our program.

Age Group Prep

  • Age Group Prep is the first level of our progressive Age Group Division and is designed for the beginner Age Group athlete. In this group the athlete will continue to build on the basic skills of all 4 strokes, starts and turns while also introducing more advanced sets, energy systems work and basic interval training.

Age Group RED

  • The second  level of our progressive age group program. This group will have a continued focus on stroke technique and skills. Proper starts and turns will be emphasized as well as mastery of basic interval training. Additionally, Age Group Red athletes will be introduced to dryland training where they will master basic strength movements, coordination, flexibility, and range of motion. Typical attendance for athletes in Age Group Red is 3 days per week.

Age Group SILVER:

  • The third tier of our Age Group program, Age Group Silver will have an increased emphasis on yardage and speed sets. Swimmers in silver are expected to have full mastery of all four strokes. This group will learn to focus on maintaining form while being asked to push through more challenging sets. Competing in team meets is strongly encouraged with AG Silver. Typical attendance for athletes in Age Group Silver is 4 days per week.

Age Group GOLD:

  • Age Group Gold is our premier Age Group level and is for the elite and committed age group swimmer. Athletes are expected to train at a high level with a focus on racing in elite competitions. Additionally, this group incorporates basic weight training that emphasizes proper mechanics, and form and prepares them for our senior groups. Regular attendance is expected, and weekly attendance requirements are structured for this group.
