Summer Champs 

THURSDAY PRELIMS 

We kick off the final meet of the long course season at Mt Sac college swim pool with some fierce swimming and some fierce competition. Up first for the HYDRO swimmers we have Ayla Almadani swimming her 100 butterfly going a lifetime best with a 1:20.99 and dropping .49 coming back to finals in 14th place. Good luck this evening. Next up we had Aashna Shah swimming her 100 freestyle. Staying on her time but dropping 3.45 from the entry time and taking 47th place overall. Next up for the 13-14 girls we had Sweet Pea Ormonde swimming her 100 Freestyle dropping .34 and taking 20th place overall with the time of 1:04.76. Next up we had Mikaela DeGuzman swimming her 100 freestyle going a 1:07.91. Great swimming on the first day of Prelims! Let’s see what we can do at finals this evening. 

 

THURSDAY FINALS 

Up for this evening we have Ayla Almadani in her 100 butterfly going a 1:21.06 and staying on her time taking 16th place overall. Good efforts and let’s see what we can do tomorrow (Friday) 

 

FRIDAY PRELIMS 

We are on day 2 of the Top gun flight school… The best of the best! Let’s go!!! First up for Hydro this beautiful am we have Mason Ormonde swimming his 100 Butterfly and dropping a huge 5.31 seconds and coming back to finals in 7th place with the time of 1:23.20! Good luck tonight Mason. Up next we have Sweet Pea Ormonde swimming her 200 Freestyle and going a 2:23.71 and taking 21st as a 2nd alternate. Next up we had Mason again swimming his 200 freestyle and going a 2:35.38 and dropping 1.66 seconds coming back to finals in 3rd place! Good luck again tonight Mason. Next up for our 5-10 boys is Aydan Li going a lifetime best in his 50 breaststroke with the time of 49.78 and dropping .62 taking 31st place. Next up for the 11-12 girls is Aashna Shah dropping .29 and going a 42.28. Next up for the 100 breaststroke is Sweet Pea Ormonde going a lifetime best with the time of 1:26.01 and dropping 1.16 taking 21st place overall. Next up we had Mikaela DeGuzman going a 1:27.41. Great swimming in prelims and let’s see what we can do at finals! GO HYDRO! 

 

FRIDAY FINALS 

It’s a beautiful day in Walnut California and we are ready to swim. First up we have Mason Ormonde swimming his 100 butterfly and going a 1:26.74 taking 7th place overall. Next up and back to back we had Mason Ormonde swimming his 200 freestyle and going a 2:31.94 dropping 3.44 seconds and taking 2nd place overall! Great swim. Last for the evening is the 15-18 woman’s 200 Freestyle relay team consisting of Ashley Shore, Gracelynn Thammagno, Mikaela DeGuzman, Ivy Vo. They went a 2:02.27 dropping 2.27 seconds from their accumulated entry time good swim ladies. 

 

SATURDAY PRELIMS 

We are about 1/2 way through the meet and first up for the day we have Mason Ormonde swimming his 100 freestyle going a 1:11.32 and dropping 1.71 seconds going into finals in 5th place! Great swim. Next on the roster we have Mason again with his 50 butterfly going a best time with 37.70 and coming back o finals in 13th place this evening with back to back events he went a next for the 11-12 girls is Ayla Almadani swimming her 50 butterfly going a 36.83 and dropping .22 for a best time. Up again for the 5-10 boys is Mason Ormonde swimming his 200 IM he had a strong race with a 3:06.17 dropping a massive 7.63 seconds! That was a big drop. Up next was Sister Sweet Pea Ormonde swimming her 200 IM and going a 2:40.22 also dropping a huge amount! 4.62 second drop and coming back to finals in 11th place. great swimming at Saturday prelims! Let’s see what we can do for finals. 

 

SATURDAY FIANLS 

Up first is Mason Ormonde swimming his 100 freestyle holding his spot for 5th place but dropping another .71 and going a lifetime best with a 1:10.61 and he is back to back in finals with his 50 butterfly going a 37.41 and dropping another .29 seconds and securing 14th place overall. Last for the evening is Sweet Pea swimming her 200 IM final she swam hard to the finish with a 2:40.63 taking 12th place overall. Great swimming today HYDRO! Last day tomorrow, last day of the season, last meet of the season! Let’s put it all in the pool. 

 

SUNDAY PRELIMS 

Well this is it!!! Let’s leave it all in the pool today. Time to give what you have left for the season and let’s see what Hydro can do. First up we have Aydan Li swimming his 100 breaststroke and going a lifetime best with a 1:49.30 dropping .72 from his time. Good swim Aydan! Up next we have Aashna Shah swimming her 100 breaststroke and going a best time with a 1:33.16 taking 29th place and dropping 1.67 seconds. Up for our 13-18 girls we have Mikaela and Sweet Pea swimming their 200 breaststroke with Sweet Pea going a 3:11.31 taking 26th place and Mikaela going a 3:14.22. Up next for our 13-18 girls is Gracelynn swimming her 100 backstroke and dropping 1.99 from her entry time going a 1:21.22. Up next is our 50 freestyles and we started with 5-10 boys and Aydan and Mason. Sudan swam his 50 going a best time with 37.30 and dropping 1.33 seconds taking 44th place. Mason swimming a 32.02 dropping 1.62 seconds and coming back into finals in 6th place. Good luck tonight. Next up for the 11-12 girls we have Ayla going her best time with a 34.25 and dropping .90 seconds. Up for the 13-18 girls we have Sweet Pea, Mikaela, and Grace swimming their 50 freestyle. We had Mikaela go a 30.76 and Grace swam a 31.55 and Sweet pea making it back to finals and tying for 13th place with a 29.45. In a rare occurrence both 13th places tied and 15th places tied. That concludes our last prelims for the 2025 long course season and up next is our last finals for the meet. 

 

SUNDAY FINALS 

Up for Sunday finals we have Mason and Sweet Pea. Mason went for his 50 freestyle and went a 32.95 taking 7th place overall. Up for the last event for the meet we had Sweet Pea swimming her 50 free and going a 29.94 taking 14th place overall. 

 

WRAP UP

I would like to say I’m proud of all you. For just starting we took 30th place overall out of 48 teams. Our most valuable swimmer at the meet was Mason Ormonde scoring 58 points for HYDRO. Our other point contributors are;  Alya= 1 point and Sweet Pea= 8 points. Great efforts to all and I hope you have a good break. When we return we are starting 2026 short course season and we have some work to do! GO HYDRO!
