Mission Mile Open Water Racing

This was one of the most amazing events I’ve been to this year. We had such a blast and a very successful first Open Water swim for the HYDRO crew. It’s a change of the normal pool scenery and it’s a great time to try something new with friends and put your toes in the sand vs the pool deck.  Below was the order of events and our amazing athletes accomplishments.

The first HYDRO swimmer in is the “Mission Mile” this is a nautical mile around a course in the lake. They swim to the farthest buoys and around and back to the finish. We had one  brave soul accomplish this event. Kenzie Donia swam the mission mile for her first open water swim. For the 13/14 female age group she placed 17th place with the time of 28:36.00 overall in female she placed 40 out of 42 and overall male and female 75 out of 81! great swim and beast mode for doing the mile.

Next up is the 800 meter swim and we had Aubree Ormonde swimming this for her first open water swim. She had a fierce start that put her in first and she maintained position in the whole race. She got 1st out of 15 swimmers in the 13-14 female age group with the time of 12:46.00. Out of all the females that swam the 800 she got 1st out of 30 and overall male and female she got 5th out of 56 open water swimmers! Great race and mile next time?!?!

Last in the water we had the boys up for the 400 meter free swim. Lucas and Mason with the start to finish race we had Lucas Kulisek take 17th place out of 28 which is an amazing first open water swim! He went a time of 8:14.00 and for overall male he got 30th out of 46 and overall female and male 67th out of 95. Also in the water we had Mason Ormonde with the time of 5:27.00 taking 1st out of 28 of the 5-10 boys and 1st out of 46 males swimming the 400 and 3rd out of 95 overall male and female swimmers. Good job buddy on your amazing first swim. Last up but not least is Summer Boylan swimming her 400 meter open water swimmers race. She did outstanding for her first open water with the time of 7:05.00 taking 8th out of 25 of the 11-12 females. And 14th out of 49 females all ages that swam. And 32nd out of 95 male and females that swam the event.

WOW-WOW-WOW!!! I am impressed and I can’t wait for the next open water event! Stay tuned for more.
