SAVANNAH BANANAS TICKET WINNERS

Swim-a-Thon brings each DMSF group together for a fun competition to meet lap goals and raise money for our team.

The Valley pool will be transformed into a tropical oasis complete with exciting prizes, inflatables, music and snacks. It’s swimmers’ chance to work hard for the reward of free time to flamingle in the pool with their group.

SEE SWIM-A-THON PRIZES

Our biggest fundraiser of the year, Swim-a-Thon is vitally important to our team’s future. All money raised goes to creating the best opportunities for our swimmers, such as team travel, innovative technology, new programming, training for coaches and swimmers, space upgrades and more.

Please consider contributing, fundraising and applying for company matches.

Then at Birdland, your flamingo will be displayed as part of our flock. Decorate your flamingo in your favorite colors, for your favorite team, or to say "Happy Father's Day" (the Birdland Invitational always falls on Father's Day Weekend). All proceeds go toward our Swim-a-Thon goal.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the times and lap goals?

Saturday, April 27: Pre-Competitive, Bronze & Silver

  • 8:30–10 a.m.—Silver: 150 lengths (3,750 yards)
  • 10–11:30 a.m.—Bronze: 90 lengths (2,250 yards) & Pre-Competitive: 30 length (750 yards)

Sunday, April 28: Gold, Platinum, Blue & Sapphire

  • 1:30–3:30 p.m.—Blue: 150–200 lengths (3,750–5,000 yards)
  • 3:30–5:30 p.m.—Gold/Platinum: 200 lengths (5,000 yards)

Do swimmers need to attend both days?

No. Swimmers will swim with their group like normal practices (swim-a-thon will replace practices that weekend, so plan to work hard). See the schedule above.

Do swimmers have to fundraise to participate?

No. All swimmers should attend (just like practice) and will receive one entry for grab-bag prizes for participating. Fundraising is highly encouraged to help our team meet financial goals and stay on track to support our needs as experience increased operational expenses.

What if I receive cash or a check from a donor?

We encourage donors to make their donation online because the process is simplified—it allows donors to donate directly to the club, so you don’t have to handle any money. But if you receive cash or a check, you can still track the donation on your personal page by selecting “+ Offline Donor.” Then, bring the donation with you to Swim-a-Thon.

Are spectators allowed at Swim-a-Thon?

Sure. Spectators can sit in the bleachers and cheer swimmers on to their lap goals set. This is also a great time to take some photos of your swimmer(s) because you are allowed on deck to snap pics.

What if I’m not feeling well?

If you’re not feeling well the day of Swim-a-Thon, do not attend. The coaches can work with you to set a future practice goal to fulfill your Swim-a-Thon obligation to donors.
