Our History:

The Pendleton Swim Association, Inc. is a qualified 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  We are governed by a Board of Directors that is made up of Swim Club Parents that volunteer their time and efforts in 3-year terms.

Competitive swimming began in Pendleton in 1949.  The club name became the Pendleton Playground Swim Team.  In 1953 the name was changed to the Pendleton Swim Team and in 1962 we became the Pendleton Swim Association.  Our "Fishie" (learn to swim) program was begun in 1977 to serve the needs of the community to assure young children learn to swim.

PSA is a member club under the local swim committee of Inland Empire Swimming- comprised of teams, coaches and officials  from Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.  There are 2,800 local swim committees across the United States with 300,000 members.  Our governing body for the for the sport of swimming in the United States is USA Swimming.

Our Mission:  to provide a team environment that presents a safe, healthy, and positive opportunity for all swimmers, regardless of age or ability, to reach their highest potential as both a person and an athlete.
