Kyndra Nelson - Head Coach

Coach Kyndra began coaching for PSA in the summer of 2021. Prior to coming into the program as head coach, she had taught swim lessons for both the city and PSA for seven years, teaching nearly all levels and specializing in levels 3 & 4. Kyndra began her swimming career with PSA by joining the fishies program, and then the competitive team at age eight. Throughout her high school swim career, Coach Kyndra was awarded hardest worker each year. She holds her swimmers to the same standard she holds herself. In her freshman, sophomore, and junior year Kyndra was a part of the PHS state team and is a record holder in the 200 Medley Relay as the butterfly leg. Sadly her swim career was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but she is happy to still be involved in the sport through coaching.

In short, Kyndra’s coaching philosophy is process first, outcome second. She believes that success is composed of various building blocks, beginning first with mental toughness, followed by goal setting, then focusing on physical strength. (see pyramid for detailed philosophy).

Paige Pitner - Administrative Coach

Hello, my name is Paige Pitner! I am currently a sophomore at Washington State University, and this year I will be taking on the position of Administrative Coach for the Pendleton Swim Association. I was a member of PSA for over 7 years as well as the Pendleton High School swim team for all 4 years of high school. I have been very involved with the club over time. I have helped in the cook shack for numerous events throughout the years, helped set up and take down swim meets, and even helped with the fishes program a long time ago. Now I teach swim lessons for the Aquatic Center, and have taught all ages and levels of swimmers in group and private lessons.

Starting this summer, I will be the Administrative Coach for PSA. I will be the first point of contact for any questions about moving from lessons to the swim team, anything to do with attendance, planning snack days and social events, or any questions regarding equipment.

My office hours will be Monday through Thursday, from 8:15 am to 8:45 am for in-person questions and 2:45 pm to 3:45 pm to answer questions via phone or email. On Fridays, I will be available from 8:15 am to 12:00 pm to answer questions in-person, or on the phone or by email.

Jack Bonzani - Assistant Coach

Hi! My name is Jack Bonzani, this will be my second year coaching for PSA. Before I started coaching I was a swim lessons teacher, lifeguard, and a PSA athlete. This year I finished my last season of swimming at the highschool level, I plan on going on to swim at the collegiate level in the coming fall. Coaching has always been a passion of mine and I look forward to getting to know all our athletes and pushing them to be the best they can. This program had a huge impact on my life and I am excited to pay that forward with the next generation of swimmers.
