Tryout Information
Team Sports Swim Teams
Team Sports is an ideal starting point if your athlete has never competed on a swim team before. They are a great transition from learn-to-swim into competitive swimming.
All new athletes interested in participating in their local Team Sports Swim Team must complete a try-out with the Natatorium Instructor of that park. Please email a Natatorium Instructor for information related to Team Sports at a local Park District. To learn more about tryouts or Team Sports programs please email the Instructor of the pool you are interested in or a CPD Swim Club Coach. This can be found under the "Our Coaches" page; Natatorium Instructors are listed under Board of Directors section.
CPD Swim Club
CPD Swim Club is an elite-level swim team. All athletes interested in participating in CPD Swim Club practices must complete a try-out with a CPD Swim Club Coach. Tryouts consist of a timed swim based on their age group and a stroke analysis. Athletes are expected to know how to swim all four strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle) proficiently.
During the Winter/Spring season, we may have a "swim-only" location where athletes who do not wish to participate in water polo or junior guards can receive a swim practice. Please email a CPD Swim Club Coach for more details on CPD Swim Club practices. Coaches' contact information can be found under the "Our Coaches" page - CPD Swim Club Coaches are listed Under Coaching staff as Aquatic Coaches.
