MMAC Parent Meeting Follow-up & Practice Time Change Reminders

Dear Parents,

Thank you for coming out to the parent meeting this past Wednesday. Below are some reminders from the meeting and notes for the next couple of weeks. We look forward to a great season. As of Monday, everyone MUST be signed up and schedule payments for the program. You must make a partial or full payment by Friday, 10/2.

As of yesterday, Thursday 9/25, you all should have received an e-mail about logging in to the team website. Please check your spam for the e-mail. If you haven’t, please e-mail me separately. If you missed the meeting and would like me walk you through the website, please reach out to schedule a meeting. You will need to declare for all meets and team events through the website. It will also be your place to find team reminders, results, and event date/time information. 

  • Suits – All parents will purchase a team suits through the All American swim portal. You can also buy team spirit wear through the portal as well. Suits are non-refundable, so please make sure you order the correct size. If you need to try on a suit, I will have them with me tonight as well as Monday and Tuesday next week.

ALL AMERICAN SWIM - Vendor site has team suits, bags, parkas, fins, goggles, spirit wear, and more.

  1. Practice time changes upcoming!!
    • Practice Times for Thursday, 10/2, 10/9 & 10/16 are as follows:
      • Blue = 6:45-7:30 PM (First 15 minutes dryland)
      • Silver = 7:15-8:30 PM (First 15 minutes dryland)
      • Gold/Red = 7:30-9:00 PM
    • Friday, October 3: No Practice All Groups (Team Night @ Richardson’s Farm – Please refer to event for more information. Declarations to attend are due Monday, 9/29.)
    • Monday, October 13: No Practice All Groups (School Holiday)
    • Friday, October 31: No Practice All Groups (Halloween)
    • Check the practice calendar if you are ever unsure about practice time. Click here to view calendar. Must be logged in to website to view.
    • Swimmers must arrive at least 5 minutes before practice time. Building is locked and late arrival means your swimmer will not gain access to practice.
    • Please remember to sign-up for the remind app to help with practice cancelation/change notifications. Also, my work cell is 224.239.7488. Please utilize this number to text if you have questions about practice or to notify us of your child missing practice. Click here for remind sign-up steps.
  2. Parent Meeting Recap - Completed forms should be returned to me via e-mail, practice or dropping off at the Recreation Center.
    • I have attached on the team information packet with paperwork form the meeting. Click here for meeting documents.
      1. Parent Handbook Appendix – I MUST have a copy on file from every team parent. Please sign & have your swimmer bring to practice. Click here for a copy of the form to sign!
      2. Cap Orders- We only order ONCE during the season. Forms should be completed and returned to the McHenry Recreation Center for processing. Each swimmer will be given 2 personalized caps as they were included in the cost. But a form must be completed. Deadline for cap orders is Monday, 10/6. Click here for CAP order form!
      3. ISI Payment Form – If you plan on attending ISI meets, please plan on submitting payment to the recreation center by the declaration deadline date or store your credit card information in your rec desk account. I process payments 4-5 days after the declaration deadline. 
      4. Meet information – Click here for meet schedule! I am working on updating meet information for the upcoming season under the events page. You will want to keep an eye on the Team Unify page of events for updates.
      5. Code of Conducts – Please read over the code of conduct for the parents and swimmers. Swimmers should understand the code of conduct and come to practice ready to work each night.     • Mandatory Equipment
      1. Team Suit & Cap – It is mandatory for all swimmers to purchase a team suit and cap. They must be worn to meets unless it is specified that a tech suit can be worn. Team suits are not able for returns or exchanges due to the team logo. This week, we will be at the Upper Campus with suits in every size. Please have your swimmer come by before practice to try on suits before purchasing through the on-line store. I will only have sample suits next week until Friday, 9/28.
      2. Team Shirt – Every athlete will be given a team shirt. We will place orders for team shirts after Monday, 10/6. Please verify your child’s t-shirt size is correct in the PDF. Click here for PDF of shirt sizes based on your registration. If you would like extra team shirts for your family, you can place that order on the cap form. I will send out a copy of the team shirt when I have a finalized design.
