Swim Lesson Policies

Registration

  • All registrations must be completed online prior to the class start date. Early registrations help us plan accordingly for instructors and space need for a successful class.
  • Registration request after the deadline will be decided on a case to case basis, based on class size and instructor’s discretion.

Swim wear and gear

  • All participants are required to wear a swim suit in the water.
  • Girls with long hair should have their hair tied up and a swim cap on.
  • All participants are recommended to bring their own goggles. Instructors do not have goggles for participants to borrow.
  • Participants will need to have their own towels.
  • If participants would like to wear a shirt over their suit it should be a swim shirt that is tight fitted so it does not cause drag while swimming.

Cancellation/Make Ups

  • If a participant misses a group class, there are no available make ups. We recommend talking with the instructor to help ensure they get caught up at the next class.
  • Private lessons must give a minimum of a 48-hour notice if they are not going to be at their lesson to have a chance to reschedule. Less than a 48-hour notice is subject to loss of fee and no make-up option.
  •  If programming is cancelled by the SwimAmerica Coordinator a make-up date will be offered, if available, and if not participants will receive a credit for the missed class.
  • To receive a refund for a registration the request must be made 72-hours prior to the first class.

Class Advancement

  • Class advancement is based on the participant’s ability to successfully perform all the required skills in the level.
  • Participants that are not able to perform all the required skills should repeat the same level.
  • Each level has prerequisites that participants should be able to demonstrate on day 1.
  • If a participant is not successful in meeting the prerequisite skills, they will not be able to continue in that class.
