Parent Meeting:
Each September at the start of the season we will hold an information parent meeting for important event, volunteering, and meet information.
Attendance by a parent/guardian required, and our Board of Director elections will be held.
Season Overview:
Winter Season (Short Course Yards) After Labor Day through late Feb Conference + Championship season through March
You may join at any time. Fall sport athletes are encouraged to begin as soon as the fall sport season ends.
Summer Season (Long Course Meters) begins mid April through late July
Wildcat Summer Swim Team (Yards) 6 weeks of summer introduction to swim team, no USA registration required
Mt. Vernon Swim Camp is a 4-day camp in the first week of June for all ages. Must be able to swim 1 lap without stopping.

1. Fall/Winter (September-March) Pricing by Groups:
We pride ourselves on keeping costs down for families through being a strong volunteer organization.
You will find our fees and dues are very reasonalbe in relation to other area teams.
Below are the monthly swim dues per swimmer. (A 10% discount is applied for each additional sibling.)
Fees charged to credit card/ACH (bank draft) payment will be taken out on the first of each month.
Swimmers will not be allowed to participate in practices or meets if dues are not paid in full by the due date each month.
Attending all offered practices is encouraged, but not required.

GUPPY- $50/MONTH
PRACTICE: Tuesday/Thursday 5:30 - 6:15 PM
-FOCUS: LEARNING 4 STROKES
-Must be able to get across diving well with no floatation device or using a wall.
V TEAM- $75/MONTH
PRACTICE: Monday 5:30-6:30, Tuesday & Thursday 6:30 - 7:30 PM (recommended attendance at 3 practices).
FOCUS: DEVELOPING 4 STROKES, STARTS, TURNS
-Must have four legal strokes (we will refine these together)
-Coaches will decide when swimmer can enter V Team
T TEAM- $100/MONTH
PRACTICE: Monday through Friday 5:30 - 7:00 PM
(recommended attendance at 4 practices).
FOCUS: COMPETITION DEVELOPMENT, REFINING FUNDAMENTALS & TECHNIQUE
-Must have legal 4 strokes, flip turns, 2 open turns
-Must be able to maintain aerobic capacity for a full 1.5 hours
-Coaches will decide when swimmer can enter T Team
M Team- $115/MONTH
PRACTICE: Monday through Friday 5:30 - 7:30 PM (recommended attendance at all practices)
FOCUS: COMPETITION AND TRAINING DEVELOPMENT, RACE STRATEGY, TECHNIQUE
-Must have legal 4 strokes, flip turns, and open turns
-Must be able to maintain aerobic capacity for a full 2 hours
- Coaches will decide when swimmer can enter M Team
SENIOR/HS - $300 Total for Preseason
PRACTICE: Monday thru Thursday 3:30 - 5:00 PM *Time varies throughout season*
FOCUS: COMPETITION AND TRAINING DEVELOPMENT, RACE STRATEGY, TECHNIQUE
- For incoming/current high school swimmers
2. Spring/Summer (April-July) Pricing by Groups:
Pricing available prior to start of long course season.
3. Annual USA Swimming Registration Fees
Instructions on how to complete your USA Swimming registration can be found on the "USA Swimming Registration" tab of our home page.
This fee must be paid separately to USA Swimming and provides your national registration and insurance for the next year.
There are three Options for completing your USA Swimming registration
(Prices listed are based on last year's rates and are subject to change. Final prices should be available by Sept.1):

Full/Premium USA Swim Member $88.75 allows for unlimited meets and all championship meets . This covers the fall and summer seasons.

Partial/Flex USA Swim Member (12&Under only) $30 allows for 2 meets but no championship meets. Swimmers can "opt up" to the full registration at any time if they decide they want to do more meets.

Outreach $5. This is a reduced rate for families meeting annual income levels similar to Free/Reduced Lunch rates. Free/reduced lunch paperwork verification is required. Please email [email protected] with any questions about this option.
*All new members must email a copy of the swimmer's birth certificate to: [email protected] before the first practice to verify ages for registration. We are not able to complete your USA Swimming registration without this.
4. MTV Seasonal Registration Fees
MTV Swim Team Seasonal Registration Fee - MTV charges a fall registration fee of $50 and a spring registration fee of $25 to help offset the cost of operational costs, activites, and incentives. Our club hosts meets and organizes fundraisers in an effort to keep this registration cost to a minimum for families. The seasonal registration fee is by family, not athlete. (Example - Family with 2+ swimmers pays $50 fall registration fee, not $100).
5. Meets
MTV Swim Team typically attends one to two meets a month during the competitive season. Swimmers will sign up and "declare" participation via the "Meet" tab on the website. Meet letters will be pdf files attached to the meet information and provide all the details for each meet.
Attendance at our home meet and the conference meet are required. (Candy Cane Classic early December, Conference February)
Championship meets include: Divisionals, State, Zones, Futures, Junionr Nationals, Senior Nationals, and the Olympic Trials. Swimmers can qualify for the championship meets by swimming set cut times in each event. Cut times can be found in our additional parent info and through the Indiana Swimming website at
www.inswimming.org
.
There will be a $25 fee per family per meet attended at the Divisional level or higher to cover costs associated with these meets.
Volunteering at meets:
Parents are expected to volunteer at each home meet as these are fundraisers for the club. Home meets help us keep monthly dues relatively low compared to other clubs in the area. Families that don't volunteer the required number of meet sessions for home meets will be charged a fee of $50 per unworked session. Volunteers do not have to be immediate family members of the swimmer. Please reach out to the MTV Swim Team board if you feel you will have trouble meeting this requirement.
Typical untrained jobs include: hospitality room, deck marshals to monitor entry points, timers running stop watches, and ticket sales.
The timing system and officials require additional training. If you are interested in beign trained on these, please let us know.
How to sign up for a meet:
-Click on the Meet Sign Up Tab on the website
-Find the correct meet from our list of meets
-Open and read the attached "Meet Letter" (every USA meet will have a meet letter full of information, start times, events, fees, etc.)
-Declare that your swimmer is attending by toggling the button yes/no
-View the session information and events that pull up for your swimmer (this is automatically loaded through the site design by age)
-Click next to the events you'd like your swimmer to be entered in (best times will show if they have swam it before)
-Add notes for the coach/admin if you need help deciding , can't attend a session, or can't participate in relays)
-Save and submit
-Billing and meet fees will happen automatically through your Go Motion account
Payment Methods
Your account must be linked to a credit card or checking account for direct deposit of payments. A $5 fee is charged for all credit card payments. ACH payments (electronically taken out of your checking account) are free. Check your account regularly and contact [email protected] with any quesionts.
MTV Swim Team offers practices and staffs coaches based on the number of registrations for each season. Your dues go towards letting us offer the number of practices for each group necessary for swimmers of that commitment level to succeed in reaching their goals. MTV schedules meets intended for different ability levels, and commits in advance to staffing coaches for each meet. The travel and staffing costs for practices and meets made available to each group are reflected in the dues. The volunteer work we ask of parents for home meets and a small number of fundraisers is reflected in the successful efforts we have made to keep dues affordable.
Useful/Important Apps
We recommend downloading two apps for the swim season.
Meet Mobile allows you to see your swimmer's events, seed times, results, and best times live as meet results are posted. (annual cost @ $7.)
USA Swimming is the free app is full of resources and and up to date USA Swimming account information.
Pick Up & Drop Off
Parents may drop off & pick up swimmers at the north parking area between MTV Jr & Sr high schools at Door #15. Please have swimmers ready to get in the water at practice start time. Parents and spectators wishing to stay in the building during practices must remain in the hallway or bleachers upstairs. The outside school doors will be locked after practice start times for security. Swimmers need to be picked up or have adult supervision within 15 minutes after the completion of their practice. Please encourage swimmers to wait inside the building until their ride.
