
Erinn Jankowski
Aquatic Director/Head High School Coach/Senior Elite Club Coach
Coach Jankowski began her swimming career as a member of Richmond High School’s State Runner Up team, where she earned All-American honors in the 100 butterfly, finaling at the IHSAA Championships all four years. She was a USA Swimming Top 10 17-18 year old in the 100 butterfly, and competed in numerous Junior & Senior National Championships. She continued her swimming career on a full ride scholarship to Ball State University, where she was a 3 time MAC Conference champion in the 200 butterfly, MVP, co-captain, and multiple school record holder.The highlight of her career was competing in the 2000 Olympic Trials in the 200 Butterfly. She continues to swim, and holds numerous Evansville City records as an adult swimmer. In 2024, she placed in the Top 10 in 3 events at the US Masters National Championships, with her highest placing at 4th inthe 100 butterfly.
As a coach, Jankowski has coached at all levels. She began coaching in college at Pine Crest Swim Camp, USC Schubert Swim Camp, and Ball State Swim Camps. Upon graduation, she served as Ball State University's Women’s Assistant Coach while earning her Master’s Degree in Sport Administration. She then began her teaching and coaching career in Evansville as Harrison High School’s Boys & Girls Swimming and Diving coach. With the Warriors, she took swimmers and divers to the State Finals all four years, coached State Runner Up swims, and was voted Sectional Coach of the Year. She served as an assistant with Mt. Vernon Swim Team in 2007 for Coach Zoller, before having her son.
At Mount Vernon, Coach Jankowski has seen the successes of her swimmers, including: 4 PAC Conference Championship teams and 2 PAC Runner Up teams, 3 All American performance honors (plus 2 consideration swims), a Sectional Record 200 Free Relay, 11th, 20th, 21st, and 41st place State Meet team finishes, 4 new school records broken, a Character Counts Award Winner, a Gene Lee Outstanding Swimmer of the Year, an undefeated dual meet season, and more. Her teams have ranked as high as 4th and 7th on the NISCA National Mythical Dual Meet Rankings for our size school. Three MV swimmers have placed on the podium at State. She was honored as the Sectional Coach of the Year in 2023.
Jankowski is a certified Aquatic Facility Operator and served as the competitive swimming committee chair for the Mayor’s Aquatic Taskforce, seeing construction of the Deaconess Aquatic Center from dream to completion.
Coach Jankowski's favorite part of coaching is whipping up clever workouts and themes to keep practice challenging and engaging. Her motto, "It's not about the swimming" keeps the team culture focused on improving life skills of grit, resilience, teamwork, and character.
Matthew Vaught
Administrative Coach/Guppy/V Team & Lessons
A 4 year member of our coaching staff, Matthew Vaught, leads our meet entry and email communications.Matthew has an extensive background in the local swim community as a manager of Evansville summer pools and as a former Reitz swimmer. He has successfully led our lesson and guppy programs, growing our numbers and starting a strong foundation for our youngest swimmers. Coach Vaught joined our MVJHS staff this year as our PE Lifeguard, helping with all aquatic instruction. Coach Vaught is kind and welcoming to all our newest members.
Hannah Gardner
M & T Team Coach
Coach Hannah Gardner has been an MTV coach for three years, helping to develop skills of swimmers in a variety of age groups, specifically the M & T teams. Under Hannah's coaching, MTV swimmers have made finaled at Zones and the State Meet, placing as high as State Runner-Up. Hannah's specialty is making practice fun and providing a heavy focus on technique. Hannah is a Dean’s List senior at USI majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Psychology with the goal of becoming a Sport Psychologist. She has 13 years of competitive swimming experience in Bowling Green, KY with the RACE Aquatic Swim Club. She competed with USI’s inaugural team as a breaststroke and IM specialist. Coach Gardner previously worked for 4 years as a swim instructor developing young swimmers and is a treasured member of our Wildcat swim family.
Naomi Weaver
Lessons coach
Naomi has 13 years of competitive swimming experience in Greenwood, Indiana with Greenwood Gators Swim Club and Center Grove Aquatic Club. She currently competes on USI’s Women’s Swimming team as butterfly and backstroke specialist. Naomi is a junior, majoring in Exercise Science with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy. She has worked as a swim lesson instructor for the past five years, and a coach for the past year.
