Club History

GAACWelcome to the Germantown Academy Aquatic Club (GAAC). GAAC was founded in 1969 to provide student-athletes of all ages with the opportunity for competitive swimming. In 2015, GAAC added competitive diving to its programming. GAAC is affiliated with USA Swimming and USA/AAU Diving.

GAAC is a year-round swimming and diving program, with training and competitions offered 12 months a year. Training opportunities are available six days a week for swimming and five days a week for diving. Our more than 120 GAAC members range from beginners to Olympic hopefuls. There is a place for everyone, so long as they have a love for the water and a passion for the pursuit of excellence. Although attending competitions is not required of our members, it is strongly encouraged, because we know that student-athletes who don’t compete will eventually leave the sport.

Grit. Resilience. Reliability. Ownership. These four words are the cornerstones to our program. Not everyone can be can Olympian, but everyone can learn to be Olympic. As a member of GAAC, your student-athletes will be challenged in a healthy and safe environment to maximize their potential in the pool, on the boards and in life. It is our goal to help grow strong, confident, and productive young men and women through sport.
