Coach Laine has been an Assistant Swim Team Coach at the Brandywine YMCA for over 6 years. She also has over 14 years of experience teaching children in 1st, 3rd, & 4th grade. While Coach Laine enjoys coaching all levels of swim, her passion is helping swimmers ages 10 and under fall in love with the sport. She believes that young swimmers need both structure and fun to see success in the sport. As a child, Coach Laine swam for a summer swim team in Northern NJ and her favorite stroke to swim was breaststroke, but as an adult, it’s now backstroke. Coach Laine has been married to her husband, Dan, for over 16 years. She has four children who are proud BCLY Orcas. During the day, she’s a stay-at-home mom who homeschools her four kids. She loves coffee, chocolate, crafting, and curling up on the couch with a good book. Coach Laine believes that every swimmer plays an important role on the team and that every child should be celebrated. She strongly believes in tying the 4 Core Values of the YMCA into practices and meets to help develop well rounded individuals.
