David Mosko was named to the US Team Competing at the World University Games in China. He was selected based on his 400 Freestyle performance at this Summer's Nationals Championships.
USA Swimming recently updated the age-group all-time Top 100 lists. These lists are separated by gender, age group (11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18) and by Short Course Yards or Long Course Meters. 48 members of the Cincinnati Marlins have posted more than 207 of the fastest times in USA Swimming history! In an ongoing series in the Cincinnati Enquirer on local high school most history laden sports venues the home of the Cincinnati Marlins, Keating Natatorium, gets its due, "Keating Natatorium, home to Ohio's most successful high school sports dynasty, is in its sixth decade. College Marlin Elisabeth Starr (West Chester) of Centre College was named Female Swimmer of the Year by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Starr, a butterfly and IM specialist for the Colonels, was also named Honorable Mention All-American in the 100 fly, 200 fly and as part of the 200 medley relay. She also garnered Honorable Mention All-American in 2007 in the 100 fly. A senior, Starr holds the Centre College records for the 100 fly, 200 fly and 200 IM. Great job Elisabeth!
Former Marlin Mary T. Meagher has been selected for induction into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame! Read below for USA Swimming’s announcement of her selection: Mary T. Meagher joins U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame Class of ’09 Three-time Olympic gold medalist Mary T. Meagher, widely know in the swimming community as "Madame Butterfly," will be inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame. Meagher claimed three gold medals in her Olympic debut in 1984, when she swept the butterfly events and competed on the gold medal-winning 4x100m medley relay....
Marlins standouts finish the second day of competition. David Mosko followed yesterday’s 6th place finish in the 400m freestyle with a 7th place finish in the 200m butterfly. Both swims were new team records. David’s 400m freestyle time of 4:53.76 broke 2004 Olympian, Dan Ketchum’s record set in 1999. Tonight’s 200m fly (1:58.68)broke his own record from 2005. Michelle Dusing (wife of Marlins’ Hall of Famer Nate Dusing) gave birth to Lyla Grace Dusing, a 6lb. 13oz baby girl on Friday February 20th at 5:49am. Let the entire Marlins’ family wish them all the best as they welcome the newest member of their family. Also, proud grandmother, Judy Dusing will be out of the office this week to supervise Lyla’s homecoming.
