Rocky Run YMCA Competitive Aquatics

The Rocky Run YMCA Reef Sharks swim team gives swimmers a great opportunity to reach their  potential! Our mission is to provide a safe environment where children can learn, improve, and enjoy the sport of swimming. Please email  at mfranchi@philaymca.org for information.

Requirements to Join

Swim team membership is the next step after a child has completed a comprehensive swim lesson program. Swimmers must complete 25 Meter Freestyle and Backstroke (50 Meters for Swimmers 11&Over). Due to high interest in our competitive team, space is limited. 

Swim Team (Fall and Winter)

On our swim team, every swimmer is important to our success! We offer multiple competitive and developmental groups for swimmers ages 5-18. Swimmers gain experience through YMCA and USA Swimming competitions. Many members enjoy our family and team-first atmosphere, which is easy to see at dual meets, pasta parties and team practices!

Spring Conditioning:   

Our Spring Conditioning program is designed to prepare swimmers of all ages for the upcoming summer league season. Coaches will begin the season with a strong focus on stroke mechanics, and gradually complement that instruction with a progressive training program. Swimmers will join our already established practice groups. Swimmers of all levels will benefit from our professional coaching and spring sports friendly practice schedule. 

Summer Program:  

Our Summer Swim Team program is designed for our swimmers who would like to build upon the success that they have had during our Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons. Coaches will continue a strong focus on stroke mechanics, along with the training necessary to help push our swimmers towards their short and long term goals. Our summer practice groups are designed to offer a challenge to all of our swimmers. Swimmers of all levels will benefit from our professional coaching and summer sport/camp friendly practice schedule.
