For those of you who are returning, we thank you for your continued support. To our newest members, we welcome you and would like to thank you for your interest in the Overlea-Fullerton Cheerleading Program.
We have a full, fun season planned for your child and hope that this guide will help you to understand what we do and what is needed from you. Our mission is to build well-rounded athletes through an environment that supports positive energy, self-motivation, and determination. We believe that each individual athlete's success contributes to the success of the team. Our main goal is to instill life lessons of persistence, responsibility and dedication into each athlete that will advance them both on and off the floor. We are focused on achieving competitive cheerleading skills, while acknowledging that self-confidence is at the core of every athlete’s aptitude to sparkle.
Being a member of the Overlea-Fullerton Cheer Program is a truly rewarding experience for the cheerleader and parent. We strive to teach each cheerleader how to work well with many different types of people and build lifelong relationships, find their inner strength and gain perspective about their abilities. They will learn to accept honor and defeat with grace and humility. This is a family commitment that involves physical, emotional and mental support.
All cheerleaders are required to attend all scheduled practices, games & competitions.
August 1st is the first day of practice. Your child will practice Monday-Thursday from 6-8pm during the Month of August. When school starts, they’ll practice two days during the week until the end of the season (Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday). It's mandatory after practice that your child participate in putting away all equipment and mats.
August practices are held outdoors at Fullerton Recreation Field 4304 Fullerton Ave. Baltimore, MD 21236. Our practices are held at Fullerton Community Center 7209 Belair Road Baltimore, MD 21206 from September until the end of the season. Days and times will remain the same until the end of the season.
Games are on Saturdays except for the Clinic (TBA). Games start at the end of August and are mandatory. We will cheer all home games at the Fullerton Field 4304 Fullerton Ave. Baltimore, MD 21236. It is possible that we will cheer a few away games but we will let you know well in advance. Each cheer team will be assigned to one football game a week to support. Schedules will be handed out as soon as they are finalized by the MMYFCL football league.
Parents must have their athletes attend 75% of the practices in August before school is in session and 90% of the practices once school starts until the end of the season.
Parents must have their athletes at all assigned games. Games count towards overall attendance. Attending Saturday games is a requirement of being able to participate in competitions.
Our tentative performance schedule is as follows:
October: Overlea Showcase
November: MMYFC Championship
November: CDE or Varsity Competition
Organization communication will come from GoMotion until the season starts. Once the season starts, everyone must download the Team Stack App (Overlea-Fullerton Cheerleading).
Registration includes: Competition fees, Competition bow, Gameday attire, Uniform rental, Music, Raffle tickets & the End of the season Party **Additional uniform items are required once the season starts.
