Maine Gators strives to support families in financial assistance through the following programs.
(1) USA Swimming Outreach Program
Benefits
- USA Swimming offers qualified athletes a year- round USA Swimming membership at a reduced registration fee of $5.00.
- NE Swimming provides reimbursement for meet entry fees.
- Maine Gator Booster Club will assist with up to 50% of swimmer's monthly membership dues.
Criteria: Families Participate in One of the following Aid Programs:
- Social Security Disability Insurance
- Food Stamps
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families
- Supplemental Security Income
- Women, Infant and Children’s Program
- Medicaid
- Children’s Health Insurance Plan
- Section 8 Public Housing
- Home Energy Assistance Program
Families must provide copy of approved application for one of the above programs (or other proof of participation).
Alternatively, families can provide copies of W2 demonstrating family income falls below these incomes levels based on household income.

(2) Maine Gator Temporary Assistance Program:
The program is for Maine Gator families that are experiencing unexpected financial challenges and do not qualify at this time for the USA Swimming Outreach Program. It is 100% funded by the Maine Gator Booster Club.
Benefits Offered:
- Covers 50% of swimmer's monthly membership dues.
- Contributes $90 towards USA Swimming registration fee (Families pay $5 per swimmer)
- 100% of meet fees
Duration: 3 months or until the family either qualifies for the USA Swimming Outreach Program or no longer needs assistance. A family can request a second round of support if needed.
Other options: Payment plans are available as well if families simply need more flexibility for a period of time.
