And don’t forget that Skills and Skillets is this Sunday, November 27 from 9-11am at the YMCA – we need all of our senior group boys and girls to be there for this event!

We are in crunch time now, and we are still in desperate need for volunteers for our FFYS Meet. We are thankful to the many parents who have already signed up to volunteer at the FFYS Holiday Meet. For the rest of you, please sign up for a MINIMUM of two volunteer slots during the Saturday/Sunday meet and preferably an extra slot during the Friday session.

If you can please help out with an additional slot or two, we’d appreciate it. We can’t run the meet without all of our volunteer slots being filled!

Event updates:

Our annual SKILLS & SKILLETS event is coming on Sunday November 27 from 9-11am at the YMCA. This is one of our awesome team-wide events! ALL SWIMMERS are invited to participate! Here are the details:

  • Our National and Senior swimmers will be running an elite stroke clinic from 9-10am at the YMCA, and then all the swimmers have a pancake breakfast afterward (prepared and served by our parents)!
  • It costs $15 per participant, and the proceeds of this event help fund the National Team!
  • It’s a super fun event for parents and swimmers! Register for the event here. Volunteer to help with the breakfast here.

And the Swimmer of the Week award winners are:

Miniray – Meghan Buckler

Bronze – Chaashni Ghike

Silver – Maryn Varga

Gold – Chase Hougard

Senior – Amy Pan

Well done Stingrays! Keep up the great work and awesome attitudes!

This week in the pool:

In the water this week, we will spend time on starts, under waters and finishes for all four of the strokes and all 5 of our groups.

We will continue to go over warm up procedures especially with the Bronze and Miniray groups.

Gold group will also be doing some work on starts as well as continuing to work on fast kicking this week.

Senior group will be working on stroke technique, starts, turns and finishes.

Thank you everyone! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
