SUMMER SWIM CAMPS

University of Michigan: https://camps.mgoblue.com/swimming/

CAMP DATES - SUMMER 2025:

Week 1: June 8-12

Week 2: June 15-19

Week 3: June 22-26

Week 4: July 27-31

Michigan Swim Camps has a long history of providing a world class camp experience that is broken down into two main camp tracks: Technique Track and Intensive Track.

TECHNIQUE TRACK: Technique Track is set up to completely break down stroke mechanics to allow campers a better understanding of body position, body awareness, and a more natural 'feel' for the water. Coaches/Instructors work with campers to incorporate speed and power back into each of the four strokes after learning proper fundamentals and technique. Starts, turns, functional dryland training, nutrition education, team building, True Colors personality assessment, mindset education, and mental training are part of this comprehensive curriculum. Campers in the Technique Track are videotaped each morning and work with camp instructors each afternoon to analyze stroke mechanics to make improvements throughout the camp week. This track is designed for the younger swimmer (12 & under) in need of better technical skills OR the older swimmer who is relatively new to the sport OR high school swimmers who do not train year-round, AND the skilled swimmer who needs a week of technical fine tuning without the added stress of intensive workouts.

INTENSIVE TRACK: Intensive Track is designed for swimmers 11 and older who have high aspirations in competitive swimming. Campers will be divided into training groups based upon the workout focus and the ability level of the swimmer. The daily schedule involves two in-water training workouts and one dryland workout, as well as instructional sessions on strength training and sports psych and mental training. Threshold, VO2max, lactate tolerance, and maximal speed training are part of the in-water training program. Daily, on-deck above water and underwater video review (in real time) will provide the backbone for each workout.
