The league utilizes two seasons: Winter (September - February) and Summer (June - August). Typically, SJA participates in only the winter season of this league.  It is a fantastic starting point for swimmers just beginning in the sport and looking to build confidence in themselves, their racing ability, and the general flow of a swim meet. It also serves as a great way for swimmers to practice different race techniques or strokes that they do not normally swim if they are going for USA Swimming cut times.

During the winter season, swimmers MUST compete in two swim meets in order to compete at the League Championship Meet. The Championship Meet is typically held over one full day, and a swimmer can swim 3-4 individual events in addition to one relay. (These rules are subject to change based on the coaches voting at beginning of season).
